If Palin didn't want to be a lame-duck governor, couldn't she have tried being a good one?

I think that when someone is elected as any kind of public official, they need to commit themselves to finish the job, not skip out half-way through the term. If they are gravely ill, or a family member is, that would be different.
The people of the state of Alaska elected her because they trusted her to do the job at hand. Not leave office when she got tired of it.

What makes you think she was not a good Governor?
Alaska is one of the most prosperous states in the Nation.
She passed an ethics law.
She passed a fiscal responsibility law
She cut over $500 million from her first years budget
She enacted a windfall profits tax on the oil and gas companies.
She got a Natural Gas pipeline project moving.
Each and every one of the ethics complaints filed against her were found to be frivolous and baseless.
Please explain how she was a bad Governor?
edit:
@gail:
Unlike Obama who essentially left his position as US Senator about 3 years before being elected President to concentrate on his Presidential election campaign.
If Palin chooses to run for President, at least she will not be ignoring her duties as an elected official to do it.

Early in the campaign, she admitted she didn't have a clue what the Vice President of the US did. Then, after a briefing, she talked with some school children, and said the VP CONTROLLED the Senate. Totally wrong. So, one wonders if she had ANY IDEA what a governor did before she took office, and once in, did she try to learn the job? I don't think so.

Palin wants to strike while the iron is hot, and make a lot of money. Governor of Alaska wasn't working out any more.

Here we go again. Libs must be secretly in love with Sarah or else they fear her. I guess they are jealous that their liberal women can't compare with Sarah's beauty.
