Is there any possible way I can get screwed buying my friend airline tickets online?

well, I never got screwed while doing something on the computer (though I've seen plenty of people screwing on my compute) but I guess if you concentrate, you can type with at least one hand while you're, uh, doing other things.

but anyway....have your friend there with the $ while you are doing it....if you can't trust your friend not to nick your credt card #, doesn't sound like much of a friend! and no, even if he hijacks the plane, your buying the ticket for him is an innocent act!

and once aticket is bought he on the flight even if the price

goes up you are safe..the airline wont make you pay more

he could go to a travel agent which will gladly take his money

I would tell your friend to buy his own tickets, using his own account. Does he not have access to a computer? Let him use yours or go to the public library and use one there.
