A NEW dorm room idea?

I'm not personally all that creative, but when I was looking at kitchens on HGTV's Rate My Space site yesterday, I noticed that they had a whole section of dorm rooms, where people had posted pictures of their dorm rooms to get feedback. Just go onto www.hgtv.com, go to the "decorating" tab, and click on Rate My Space. The categories on the left-hand side will give you the dorm rooms.

Well, i'm only 14 and, being that i'm only going to be a highschool freshman this year, i have never had to decorate a dorm. haha : ) but i have spent a week in a dorm before when i went to a camp at Florida Southern. I am also very into interior design. So here's my advice: make your space comfortable, simple, functional, and, above all, personal. it's seriously comfortable, and takes up a minimal amount of room. plus, it looks cool. remember to bring your ihome!!! i am a HUGE music person, so a great soundsystem is a MUST!!! a good study lamp is definetly good to have, a bunch of pillows are always great, a big, magnetic whiteboard or corkboard for the wall is good to keep track of events and such. basically, visit http://www.pbteen.com/

it has the best dorm decor. and my last bit of advice? personalize! in my room, you can't even see the wall because there's so many photos, collages, tags, flyers, postcards, papers, pictures, paintings, etc. stick absolutely everything on there! it'll look awesome. i always get compliments on my wall when i have friends over. seriously, it looks cool! plus, adding on to it gives me something to do when i'm bored. if you have a dorm party, take a crapload of pictures, print them out, and put them all on your wall. well, i hope that hepled? enjoy!
