Why do people who cause vehicle accidents...?

Why do people who cause vehicle accidents (like, cars & trucks etc) are not the ones who die? Why do the victims end up being the dead ones? Doesn't seem fair. I know - "life isn't fair". This time around, that is not an acceptable answer, so let's come up with something constructive - k?

(I wanted to put this into "Polls & Surveys", but it wasn't an option)

Things just happen. People who are the victims often can't prepare themselves for what is about to happen. When you are driving a car you can feel if something is going wrong with the car. You can feel yourself losing control even if it's for that split second. You have time to brace yourself and react to it. Anyone can be a victim, anyone can cause the accident. A friend of mine was a backseat passenger in a car. Her grandparents were in front, and her sister was beside her. The grandfather was driving the car in speeds excess of 80 miles an hour. He came up over a hill, and hit a tractor. The car ran into the ditch and started on fire. The man driving the tractor pulled my friend and her sister out of the car, but the grandparents perished in the fire. My friend was airlifted to the hospital, and she died in the OR.

April 11th, 2009. She was 17 years old.

She was a victim. Her grandfather was the cause of the accident, he was still a victim to it. For weeks I prayed every single day that the man driving the tractor would regret what he did for the rest of his life. Then I came to find it wasn't his fault. But it was my friend's grandpa.

The best answer I can give you is that people don't have time to react to it. They don't see it coming. They don't see the mistakes made as well as the driver does, and that's why often times the driver survives and the innocent bystander loses their life. Life isn't fair, but we have to deal with it all the same.

You're looking for an answer to a question that really has no answer other than s*** happens. Others are right in their assumptions that the victims never see the accident coming and therfore can't prepare for it while the perp walks away because he could prepare or was so drunk that his relaxed state helped him to avoid serious injury. I used to be in the towing industry for many years and saw numerous accidents where the person or persons who caused it walked away. One stands out though and it involved 2 young guys racing dad's cars and they caused an accident where the innocent victim was rear-ended so hard that his car was pushed into the next and broke it in half. Unfortunately the victim died from his injuries. But karma bit the young kid who caused the accident and he is a paraplegic stuck in a wheel chair for the rest of his life and he went to jail for motor manslaghter. I'm sure his confinemnt to his wheel cahair will remind him every day of his life what a stupid thing he did.

it could be anything. it can be because the people who cause the accidents have time to brace themselves like other people said, or it could just be plain ol' bad luck.

i know it sucks when some random civilian dies. everytime i read about something like that, it makes me mad that people have the nerve to do stupid things on the road without thinking of others. i remember once two street racers were on the highway and were gonna crash into a guy in an SUV, the guy in the SUV swerved to avoid hitting the street racers and basically saved their lives, but he lost control and he passed away. i think one guy turned himself in and last time i heard, the other guy was still in hiding. this sorta stuff sucks.

btw, you can put it in polls and surveys if you click on the option that says "browse categeories". click on entertainment & music, then click on polls and surveys

Yeah, it's amazing how often we hear of some bad guy running from the cops and he crashes into other cars and kills people, but he walks away (in handcuffs, of course) from a car that is totally destroyed.

the victim has no idea what is happening while the driver causing the accident can brace for the impact

did you lose someone? i think that the person who gets hits does not know what is about to happen so they don't perper to get hit, now the other driver sees that he is about to hit another car so he can brace him or herself for the impact, making the injury less for them.
