PROTESTants: If you're sect is really the One True Church, then what are you protesting?

They just do not understand or accept the true church established by Jesus Christ.It is like talking to a brick wall.

Dont get too lost in the vernacular of protestantism and its history and usage. Unless you just like arguing over non constructive points of issue.

Originally the protestant movement initiated by Martin Luther was due to the errors of the Catholic Church at the time. Which the Catholic Church now agrees with in part.

They protested against the Roman Catholic Church for selling indulgences, and a whole bunch of other unbiblical activities they were involved with. Find out in your history books about Martin Luther and the thesis he nailed to the door of the church to see all that had gone wrong.

They're protesting over the fact that Catholics do not have the KingJamesVersion stuffed up their rear ends.

Well, Luther was protesting against the corruption in the Catholic Church (also true). The other churches were lumped into that group.

They protested the Roman Catholic Church because they believed it was corrupt.

why do you catholics insist on pursecuting the Protestants? Is it to deflect why we question your beliefs and doings? I can understand why they divided from you...especially nowadaze, when all I see is "ridiculing and contempt" for them and Us...they separated from the roman catholic church because long long ago it was corrupted and is still going strong today,which you are so closede you won't even check it out for yourself because you fear the higher ups, hence "protest" wait and see....and after they separated from the church so did many many other denominations, in fact it is the early roman catholics "fault" if you may that there is not one church any longer, God Bless and Keep Us ALL

that's funny, i've been attending 'protestant' churches all my life...mostly , but not exclusively, Baptist churches-we have ministers and missionaries in our family, and NOT ONE of them has ever referred to themselves, at least in my presence, as 'protestants'...we refer to ourselves as "Christians"...we don't follow any 'one true church' or even refer to our churches in that manner; only the roman catholics i know ever use that phrase. we don't follow a sect or a church or a denomination; we follow Christ

If it is definitely based on and formed after the roman catholic church who up and praise Mary rather then Christ. Then they are damned of hell even when they speak. I mean how can they say the obey the Bible when they do idolatry? Praising Mary rather then Christ who is God. I believe that is going against commandment. Secondly we do not need our sins confessed to a pope who we call Father? He should not be equaling himself to God. Our confessions should be made to God. Not a man who also sin it's not his business anyway! It's just like saying Jesus your not good enough to pay, for man's sins and some people who do realize what He died for. Think baptism and their own works will get them to Heaven? God says our righteousness is as filthy rags. Were not perfect and sinless to make our way that would be equaling ourselves to God!

Denying the Lord that bought them. If any pope who does not even mention eternity and hell. Then he is doing no good to a man's soul, and is damning himself and others...it is false. When they uplift themselves rather then Christ!! It is not doctrinal at all! I don't think it's right when they take these words out of the Bible, for their own sweet high minded ways! Is only pagan.

Christ died to pay for man's sin debt, so we do not have to spend an eternity in hell.
