Guns seriously need to be banned, why doesnt anyone else see this?

I know it's frustrating but I have to agree with that other guy on here. Making guns illegal will ensure that only criminals will have them. I think in the long run that would obviously make things worse. Think prohibition... when alcohol was outlawed did that mean nobody had any alcohol during that time frame? No, it made it so that only those (criminals) who really wanted it or (and this is the big part) those who could make good money from it still had access to the alcohol. That's why prohibition didn't really work and also why making guns illegal won't work either. What we as a country really need to do is change the circumstances of people who resort to using guns in violent ways. The only way to get around the problem for real is to solve the problem at its root for real. I know this way seems much longer and harder but if you want real change it's never easy.

More regulation might be a good idea. It would not hurt the law abiding citizen because they should have everything in order to make a legal purchase. It may take a little longer for the paperwork to go through but that is not an issue for these people (not really anyway). Again the only problem is that criminals can falsify documents and still get their gun anyway. It also means that criminals will probably have access to more guns and be able to get them faster than say a policeman. That seems odd. I agree with you though that something needs to be done. It's tough though because you have to think of all the ways the bad guys can cut corners. We tend to think in terms of rules but to criminals rules are nothing but roadblocks for the good guys. The bad guys usually find their way around the rules. You're definitely right, it is frustrating!

You can not compare Japan to most if any other countries, their homogeneous society works for several different reasons, and will not work here.

Complex issues can not be solved by slogans and in case you did not notice when Congress passes laws they usually have many unintended consequences which create other problems.

How many people on the news that have done horrific things have a record as long as your arm? In states that have a carry law have much less crime. We have laws (federal) that carry 10-20 year sentences for illegal use of a firearm wth no "good time" but local judges "bleeding hearts" for a quick guilty plea drop the gun charges. Then drop the charges to simple robbery instead of armed robbery, get 2 years and out in 12 months. Don't say we should change our constitution, take the choice away from these Judges (like they had to for drug charges) and in the case of a felony with a firearm, it should go right to federal court. They used that law against our own border patrol agent when they shot him in the butt, but won't use them against crimminals.

I agree with you but it'll be a long way to go to ban weaponry. Though there will a group of people who think that weapons need to be banned so that the corrupted or mentally unstable people can't purchase one, there'll also still be people who think that they need weapons to protect themselves. thing is, anything can be a weapon. If guns are banned, there's no stopping these baddies from using knives or other stuff as weapons. There will be few groups with their own concepts and reasonings. We can't entirely rule out that guns are bad, it's not just all drawbacks, there are advantages to it also.

Have you ever viewed what the moment modification rather approach or that it's going to now not be legitimate in todays society? Probably no longer. And your resolution is to arm extra individuals? What occurs while such a protection guards has a nasty day and makes a decision to shoot up but one other study room filled with youngsters? What's your argument going to be while that occurs? Common experience turns out to have long gone fully out the window with a few individuals. The truly drawback is seen to the leisure of the arena. If you are simply going to disregard it then do not assume something to difference.

Guns don't kill people and forks don't eat by them selfs, Banning guns would be like banning alcohol, make the situation worse, a robber obviously has no train of thought so clearly if they had a gun and you don't because it's illegal you are screwed anyway, it's in the Constitution and that's how it should remain

what makes you think that any regulations would stop criminals from getting guns? they get cocaine and other controlled substances. so it would just be taking away the protection that law abiding citizens have.

another random fact, is that the countries with the least regulating gun control laws have the lowest homicide rates and the ones with more gun control laws have higher homicide rates.

If you ban guns, only law abiding citizens will be disarmed. Law abiding citizens do not kill people. Criminals do; criminals who could care less about a firearm ban. It is already illegal to kill people, yet that doesn’t stop criminals. What makes you think making guns illegal will stop criminals? You need to put two and two together and THINK.
