Your cat is showing you how proficient of a hunter he is, you should reward him!! Cats only do this if they love their human very much. He also could be trying to teach you how to hunt if he brings them in alive. Take this as a huge compliment, he is worried that you won't be able to provide for yourself (darn the grocery store!) and wants to teach you how to survive. Its high praise ;)
If you don't want him bringing stuff in, you will have to close any flaps and greet him at the door. Step out the door and he will typically drop the animal at your feet before going in. If not, you may have to pry it away. But always praise him. Cats will be insulted if you scoff at their hard earned gift ;)

Although cats do bring 'gifts' home to feed their family members I don't think that this cat is yet at that stage.
What he is doing is saying 'Hey! look at what I caught, aren't I clever'. He plays with it because he is well fed and not hungry enough to need the food supplement but it is natural learning behaviour to catch whilst catch can.
When you try to pick up his trophy he sees it that you are robbing him of his pride and joy. Rather than trying to get the catch away from him, work around to picking him up. Praising and patting him all the while, tell him how clever he is and how proud you are of him. Once he is distracted, then you can remove it.
If he is clever enough to work out your policy then you need to make a point of shutting all the doors so he is limited to the number of hiding places to bury his treasure

The cat is trying to share it's food for you and looking for approval. He may also think you are a poor hunter and is trying to teach you. The mother cat will bring half dead mice to her kittens to teach them to hunt. I would think it was good that he is keeping the rodent population down on your farm. Rodents get into feed and poop all over the place. Put a bell on his collar if it bothers you that much.

A cat brings a dead animal because catching small animals or rodents are a cats natural gift as you care for it so much it goes hunting and brings you this as a gift i know its gross and you feel sorry for the animal but all the cat is saying is it loves you. :)

That is a cat's way or showing affection. In their eyes, they are giving you a gift. Which they are. They are taking the mice out of your house. Try giving him more attention. But when he does bring you "gifts" you should reward him with petting and more attention because that shows he loves you.

Room and board - the cats observe that we are not capable of hunting for ourselves so they are taking pity on us and sharing their lunch with us. Also, the house is a safe area to bring prey to because other predators cannot steal it from them.
In my case they no longer try to bring their kills into the house. They bring their fresh meat into the back yard and present it to their dog.

He's showing you that he is a good hunter and provider. This is quite normal for a cat. Now how to get them to stop is another question. Verbal disapproval and removing the dead animals seems best.

Okay, don't worry, most cats do this. There's not much you can do though. Just try and put him outside the house when he does this or keep him inside more.

Believe it or not he is bringing you gifts. Animals cant tell us how they feel so they show us and it might me a little weird but look at it this way he is not bringing in live rodents.

You can't, cats do what cats do...they hunt. When cats bring home a gift its for you, its there way of saying i love you. You cant stop a cat for doing something that is in there nature.
