Little black bugs the size of the head of a pin on my cats and on my ankles?
I have found numerous little black bugs. They walk kinda slow and are the size of the head of a pin. I need my glasses to see them. I also find them on the head of my cat. The two older cats are missing fur around the legs and on their back but the younger 7-week old kitty doesnt have missing fur. What are these bugs and are they causing the fur loss and why doesnt the kitty have fur loss?
Thanks in advance.

They could very well be fleas or lice. Quote As everyone knows, there are plenty of external parasites as well. Arthropods are external parasites and include fleas, mites, ticks and lice. These are somewhat more common with captive-bred birds than infestation with internal parasites, but still avoidable and, most importantly, treatable. Symptoms include feather plucking, feather degradation and skin inflammation. Nothing beats a close inspection though, and many parasites are visible with the naked eye. If your bird picks up some external freeloaders, your veterinarian will prescribe a powder or spray for external use. Keeping the bird clean by misting or bathing will also help keep the bird bug-free in the first place. Prevention of re-infestation follows along the same rules as for preventing a recurrence of internal parasites. Follow the rules and your bird will be as happy as a clam. End Quote

These sound alot like fleas, act quickly or you will become overrun and it is horrible living with hundreds of them. The older cat is possibly allergic to the fleas, causing the bald patch.
See a vet about flea treatments for them.

They are fleas, and they BITE! You need to get to the vet for medication for the cats and you need to flea bomb the house otherwise they'll keep coming back.

They could be ticks if they have a fat pear-shaped appearance, or they could be the more common fleas. Take care of this problem immediately as fleas multiply faster than rabbits, they can cause sickness.

Fleas!
Get your cats treated immediately but also teat your house or you'll not break the cycle or get rid of them.
The vet, or good pet shop, will stock the products you need but do it soon
