If you have a lot of drainage it can, but if you let if continue it could lead to pneumonia. Talk to your doctor and have him/her prescribe you an antibiotic and a steroid pack. It should clear right up.

NO but asthma might.....I answered your other questions too and as I have sinusitus for over 5 months me too coughed a lot, NOT only nights though.At first they thought asthma but apparently I dont have it .You know mucus will move/flow from nose into your mouth where it has trouble going down so to say,this is what I got too BUT the problem is your nose/sinuses and possible an operation.Definitely you need to see an ENT?ear,nose and ear-doctor and let him/her check out your sinuses,if he/she doesnt trust your coughing you could do some additional breathing-tests with a lungdoctor,to check for a possible astma/lungdisease. it can. sinus infections can be debilitating. people get excited about colds. they only last 4 days. a sinus problem can last months. see a doc.
