What is really the true war for feminism?

I support your right to ride Harleys and wear pink feathered bras. If the war is over I am delighted.

Early in the movement, women affirmed correctly that they were not objects and should not be treated as such. I agreed.

When they began to place housewives in the category of "Uncle Toms," to ridicule and attack men ("a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle"), to seek not equality but preference, I lost sympathy.

Minority women, women born and reared in poverty, single women with children but no way to pay for child care, etc., do need the support of society. But we need to be careful: women born into upper middle-class families should not be allowed to use their gender to leapfrog over men; after all, women are human, and humans, unfortunately, can be greedy, selfish, ambitious, indifferent, devoid of compassion, and cruel.

Yes, the average wage of women is less than that of men. But this reason alone does not justify providing advantage for the most prosperous and successful women. It does bear investigation and proper remedies should be identified and debated. Affirmative-action quotas alone have not and will not address effectively the injustices in our society toward women--or anyone else victimized by a predatory culture.

Women are still being payed less than men for the same job and experience.

The only casualties are 48 million fetuses

What it should be about is reproductive freedom and equality.
