Best Language Programs?

I'm looking for two things: a language program that will give you a crash course in a few weeks of enough of a language to enable you to work your way around that country, and a separate program that will allow you to explore the language more in-depth, and enable you to speak more fluently. Basically, one program to enable you to be a tourist, the other to enable you to speak like a native (or at least closer to a native level).

Cost is of no concern. Any suggestions?

Pimsleur is probably your best bet. It is pure audio that combines repetition with the most frequently used vocabulary, and in complete phrases and sentences. It is great for pronunciation and diction.

If you want more in depth (like written), then Barron's Traveler's Language Guides are a good supplement. Together they should get you through and start a good foundation for more if you desire.
