Is Congress included in the health care bill?

No. They are already covered with insurance. They are civil servants and get a special deal.

And part of the plan is that you keep your current coverage if/when health insurance reform passes. I am sure they would opt to keep the top of the line coverage that we already pay for. Why would they change their part of the deal?

I actually laughed a little when I read your question. No. They are not included, they are not included because they have a very very nice health care plan that is exclusive to them. In brief, it goes something like this; The very best care, all for free, for the rest of their lives. Why would they want the garbage health care plan they want us to have?

Don't forget about their retirement plan too. 10 years in office and they're retired with full benefits. Most Americans work 40-50 years.

Do they do other things they demand of us:

Pay income taxes like Rep. Rangel

Pay other payroll taxes like us, Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment, etc?

Take ordinary mortgages like Senators Dodd and Conrad?

Fly commercial air like Rep. Pelosi?

Look for parking places at airports in Washington, DC?

Pay ordinary costs for lunches and other meals in the Congress? (or haircuts, gym costs, etc, etc.)

Receive parking tickets from DC police?

Allow their offices to be searched by the FBI?

Comply with national security rules and regulations concerning secrecy?

Why not? Because they make the laws, silly.

They have exempted themselves from the plan. They want to keep their plan which is better than the one they are imposing. After all why should they have to follow the laws they pass?

No and they don't want what they are trying to force us to use. The President and Pelosi have already said that.
