The "road of life" is full of ruts...We should all try to avoid those.
So, if gays in the military present a danger to our security and to straight people, how do you feel about?
gays sitting in a classroom with straight children, or next to you in church, or in a college dorm, or at work, or at the table next to you, or next door? Ideologues have a hard time presenting a realistic or sensible answer, but the in-your-face gays don't help their cause either. Isn't it all about dignity and respect? What do you think?
14 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDid the President prove today, during the Q&A with Republicans, that he needs no teleprompter?
He slam-dunked answers to their questions that were mini-speeches. How could you not be impressed by his intellect? Every Republican referred to their notes when asking questions, though.
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow can we stop psychos from shooting up courtrooms and threatening judges and prosecutors?
As long as guns are legal, the IRA and the gun manufacturers are happy, but how does the IRA suggest we keep guns from unstable people? Incidents of shootings and threats has increased dramatically, in schools, places of business and in courtrooms. How can we protect people, including ourselves, against a surprise attack, such as the one today.
2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhen is Congress going to admit they are pawns of the Insurance Industry and the Pharmaceutical Industry?
I am so disgusted with the 30 Democrats who voted against the bill to allow us to buy prescription drugs from Canada. Why would they do this? I understand why most Republicans voted against it...
they want Obama's administration to fail at everything. If they are not in the pocket of those powerful lobbyists, what could possibly be their reason for a "NO" vote?
4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoCan average, working-class Americans now see how influential the Insurance Industry is in Congress?
Joe Lieberman is carrying their flag, but he isn't the only one in the pockets of the Insurance lobbyists and, you must realize that their interests are the opposite of mine and yours! The less they pay out in claims, the more they profit. Why don't all middle-class Americans, of both parties, understand this? Why do so many support the exceedingly untrustworthy Insurance Industry? It baffles me!!!
5 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoDoes anyone know what Joe Lieberman is up to?
I don't trust him. He forgets, when he changes his mind, that his original opinion was taped for all to see. He seems to be hell-bent on agitating within the Democratic Party. Does the fact that Hartford, Connecticut, his state and the location of a huge insurance corporation, influence his opinion on health care reform? Is he in their pocket?
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWould anyone vote for Lou Dobbs, if he decides to run for President in 2012?
He has already tried to soften his previous harsh opinions of illegal aliens, and has suggested "changes in the approach to control them. This could prove to be the flip-flopper of all time, but how else would he ever get a Latino vote? I hope he runs, if only to provide some comedy relief!
12 AnswersElections1 decade agoDoes anyone think Dick Cheney's opinions have any value?
He keeps showing up on TV, bashing the President about his decision regarding sending more troops to Afghanistan. What does Cheney know? He made some really bad decisions about Iraq and WMD's and he has no military experience. Matter of fact, he had five (5) deferments!
25 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIsn't this a good time to examine election campaign reform?
It's pretty clear who has received big money from the influence-peddling lobbyists working for the Insurance industry and the Pharmaceutical industry. Those people are against health care reform and are obstructing its success, not for the benefit of the American people, but for money for their coffers! These industries are spending big bucks to cause the reform to fail. Why do we allow these self-serving, greedy groups to control Congress?
1 AnswerOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWould Afghanistan benefit more if we sent them teachers, instead of troops?
We know the leaders of Al Qaeda are somewhat educated, while the ones they brainwash to kill innocent men, women and children are simple, uneducated young people. Wouldn't it be much more difficult to recruit suicide bombers from an educated pool? The present effort seems to be failing.
15 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHave all adults left the political forums in Q/A?
There are so many angry, hateful-sounding kids asking nonsensical questions. Finding a question of substance is almost a thing of the past.
2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoIsn't it sad that Senator Ted Kennedy died before we got health care reform?
He fought so hard for it.
16 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDo Republicans understand this conundrum?
They are using Medicare (socialistic public health care) to argue against a socialistic public health care reform bill. They "say" they are trying to protect seniors against cuts to their program. Do they recognize the irony? Or, is this too much to absorb?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIs Congress included in the health care bill?
If not, why not?
5 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDid you see Keith Olbermann's show exposing some in Congress who get huge donations from medical providers?
Influence peddlers from insurance corps. and pharmaceutical corps. have many politicians just where they want them....voting NO against health care reform! And, they are not all Republicans. They are "blue dog" Democrats, too. It'll be interesting to see how they vote, after being exposed as fodder for lobbyists hired by greedy corporations. Is there another side to this?
6 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhy do the Obama-bashing trolls seem drawn to this particular category?
They are in the other Political forums also, but this one is inundated with them.
8 AnswersElections1 decade agoWho told Gingrich and Limbaugh to flip-flop on their support of Sotomayor?
Both have changed their tune and say they "might" support her now. Who is back there in the shadows, calling the shots?
9 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDoes anyone believe anything Dick Cheney says?
Old "motor-mouth" is only concerned with his legacy. He keeps forgetting that everything he lied about in the past is on tape. Are Republicans still influenced by his daily diatribes?
