i guess i sent the other question elsewhere. there is spark but not alot and i thought that if you had spark the points are good am i wrong please help

You want a bright blue spark, the points may not be set right so the spark isn't good.

The points need to be clean and the gap set correctly.Clean the points carefully. You wife's nail file works pretty good for that.Just shine the up, don't file them away. Next the open setting should be around .020 of an inch. A match book cover, is a good off the cuff Gage to try. With the points open to their maximum travel, the matchbook cover should fit between the point gap just barely with a little drag.Adjust the setting if needed.see if you get better spark.(hint, start with a new spark plug)

They have a spark tester at auto parts stores. Not enough spark is just as bad as no spark at all.
