Whats wrong with my kitten?

So in the mornings this kitten just walks around my legs, and likes me a lot. Later in the day, (daytime) the kitten just doesn't mind me, it goes where ever, and doesn't mind if i pet it or carry it. But, at night, or (dark) it is a completely different cat. I don't think it has anything to do with cats being active during night, because mine really isn't. During the night (or in the dark) the cat is afraid of everything thing, and everyone. And at night, even when we are in a very lit room, it is still afraid of everyone. I've had this cat for for over a month now, and i'm pretty sure it knows me and my home very well. Currently it is about 13 or 14 weeks old. Any know why it acts this way? Could it be something wrong with it's vision??
