I have PCOS, have had 2 babies and have never used any type of medication or unnatural process. Use a low carbohydrate diet and try to keep your blood sugar very low. That is one of the part of the cycle that is out of whack so if you can control that, the rest gets better. You do the same thing as you would with metformin, only you do it with diet. They say loose weight but I never lost weight even though I followed the diet and exercised, its really hard to loose weight when you have PCOS. Even though I only lost maybe 15 pounds in a whole year, I still got the benefit of nearly regular periods and got pregnant. Controlling stress is huge too because it is also a natural hormone regulator. Make sure you get plenty of calcium and magnesium, both hormone regulators. Eliminate all the inorganic diary and hormone treated meats from your diet as well as hydrogenated oils and refined concentrated sugars - all that jacks up your hormones. Eat lots of omega 3 type fats - like salmon, nuts, seeds, vegetable oils - they have anti-inflammatory properties. Get light exercise everyday that is challenging enough to raise your heart rate slightly but easy enough you can do it 30 minutes at least and something you either like or is at least not stressful to you. Get plenty of sleep and relaxation.
Since your ovulation is irregular, you have to listen to your body closely to know when you may ovulate. When you get even a slight urge, have sex. If you are too busy or stressed or your mind is elsewhere, you may miss it so stay in touch with yourself. If you are around other women who ovulate regularly, you may begin to also. Have sex and more importantly orgasms frequently. Your mind will tell the rest of your body your trying to reproduce.
The most important thing is to be patient because it does take a long time. It took me over a year of doing everything right, not counting all the years I spent figuring out what that was. The good news is, after you get pregnant the first time, it gets much easier after that to get pregnant again.

Almost all women with PCOS can get pregnant and most do get pregnant (it is NOT rare at ALL). it just takes longer time and you will likely need to take meds. If the case is mild and you ovulate (although infrequently), you can get pregnant naturally as well.
Study your cycles. Amd get metformin to help manage PCOS (that will help tremendously) and be on healthy diet (no junk foods or sweet) - both are relatively inexpensive. If that still doesn't work, then you may need to take fertility meds.
metformin and trying naturally worked for us couple of times. So, it can happen.
Good luck

I have PCOS and I got pregnant without meds. I guess it happened because I was living a very healthy lifestyle. It really helps if you can work closely with a doctor who can manage the syndrome. If you can't get fertility drugs, talk to your doctor about your options. Metformin seems to work well for me. It's important to at least know whether you can avail of any other options since you can't get the meds. Good luck!

Try going to soulcysters.net (I'm pretty sure that's what it was called). I was on there earlier after googling an unrelated topic and it seemed like there were a lot of women on there talking about PCOS and other conditions. Didn't go to the actual homepage as I was looking into a specific thread but it's worth a try.

Yes, I got pregnant with PCOS and no meds... however you might need a laproscopy to remove any endometriosis which is often associated with PCOS.
If you still ovulate you can conceive... if you don't have a cycle due to the PCOS your going to need help.
Good Luck.

It's not impossible. There are a few ladies on here who have done conceived with PCOS.
You just need to keep your chin up, baby dance on the right days. Are you using OPKs? It's important that you know that days that you are ovulating to increase your chances. I have been TTC our second baby for 11 months now after no problems with our first baby and although it is disheartening and depressing, you just got to keep trying.
Good luck and lots of baby dust xxxx

without meds it might be hard, but there is something you could do...
my SIL conceived after 4 years of treatment with twins, by IVF (she has PCOS, and her husband has low sperm motility). then she did a special laser surgery, it's called "ovarian drilling", it drills holes in your enlarged ovaries, and that helps the whole ovulation/menstruation process. it didn't work immediately, she had another kid by IVF, but not long after that one she got pregnant on metformin only! that kid is now almost 3 years old, and she has a 1-year old that she conceived naturally without taking anything at all!
i don;t know if they do the drilling in america, because my other SIL, who also has PCOS, came to israel to do it, because the doctors there told it isn't done anymore... but i know the doctor that does it in israel... so someone does it, maybe look into it, i'm going to after i give birth... (i have PCOS too, and the kind that metformin and clomid aren't enough)...
look it up on google, i'm sure you'll find something!
good luck baby dust!
