Why was the tone so calm at the town hall meeting attended by President Obama?

He is the POTUS even the most rabid opponents will normally be on their best behavior in his presence.

The Secret Service present can't hurt.

They only allowed pro-Obama people into his little love-fest meeting. It makes it appear that people are in favor of this pile of doggy poo poo. When they let in real Americans with real concerns, the people are angry and shouting at the congress-twit since they aren't listening.

They don't want "discussion." They want people to slobber all over His Majesty and say "thank you for giving us this wonderful reform. We really needed this." HECK NO! We have a brain and we can see the errors and the lies. We aren't naive and stupid - well, maybe the Obama supporters are!

They are telling us lies! They are saying that AARP has endorsed the bill - NOPE! AARP hasn't endorsed it.

You have Specter saying he won't support a bill that give health care to illegal aliens but it's IN THE BILL! BTW, that's on page 50, section 152!

You have a congresswoman that doesn't understand why people are "rude" because they are yelling. You got it lady, you don't understand the anger since YOU aren't listening and are being condescending in your attitude!

You have the speaker of the house calling us American. Angry/concerned AMERICANS are being called a mob, Nazis and the KKK. HOW DARE THEY TALK TO US LIKE THIS! We hired these idiots to represent us and to listen. 53% are against this and they are still telling us lies about how this is what we need. They should be fired for incompetence.

The longer this goes the more we read and the more we hate it. There are probably more Americans that have read the bill than the idiots in Congress. We know what's in it and they don't!

Any congress-twit that votes for Obama-care should not be reelected! That might be the only leverage we have to get them to do what's right!

i will tell you why The president is afraid of debate, he is afraid of tough questions, afraid of criticism, afraid of looking bad, so i believe all those people are hand picked and the town hall is staged! There is no way all those people are going to be so supportive of the health care plan especially after all the criticism alot of other congressman got! I bet every time you see the president attends these town hall meetings you wont see any criticism like we have at the other town hall meetings because the president is afraid of transparency, real debate, tough questions, so he wants to make sure all in his attendance mainly support him and all questions he makes sure are hand picked. Look you say people are getting violent and have belligerent behavior. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WHEN CONGRESS AND THE OBAMA ADIMIN IS TRYING TO RUSH through a health care reform bill and cant even explain whats in the bill. People want their government to do the job they get paid for and read the bill! What do you expect when people are called racists, right wing extremists, astroturf movement or un american. People are trying to get answers from the government and they cant even explain whats in these bills. They expect their government to represent them to listen to them, look it shows in the polls and it will show come reelection time for some of these senators! You want to talk about violent How about SEIU beating someone up no you dont want to talk about that. You ever think that everything the president sets up is staged. It is come on people want answers and this administration can not come up with these answers. I completely disagree with you when you say everything is so violent, no i think these people are waking up and our government needs to be asked tough questions in one of the toughest issues for our economy the Obama Admin thought they would pass this without a fight Well they have a long tough battle ahead especially when most americans are happy with the current health care.

Probably because the SECRET SERVICE was also in attendance... and before the President shows up they boot out anyone likely to cause trouble or be a potential threat + they monitor all cellphones within 60miles.

Of course little Julia's mother was an early obama supporter in Taxachusetts druing the presidential election, had previously met michelle obama and obama's daughters, and vp joe "gafftastic" biden. Naturally there was no mention that little Julia's mother Manning donated thousands of dollars to obama, as has her law firm.

First of all. His audience was screened, No one in at that, would show

difference to his lamb to the slaughter routine, Second, His entire

venue was surrounded with Police and Secret Service, Someone

with bad gas would have had trouble firing off in there, let alone

brace the anointed one. See, there is a big difference between

a real town hall meeting and love fest orchestrated by the Obama

Administration.

The Obama Town Hall meeting was loaded with Democrats only. They were evidently told to smile and nod in approval when Obama spoke. It didn't fool anybody.

It wasn't a town hall meeting. It was a staged event for TV. The audience was carefully screened.

1. Although Obama never admits it, entry to his town halls is tightly controlled.

2. Protests were outside.

3. Nobody thinks he'll listen anyway. No one think's they can influence his support on this issue as it's HIS bill and he gets no vote. Congressmen and Senators CAN be influenced to vote against the bill.
