My boyfriend and I want to get married in New York City in May 2010. It is just going to be the two...?

My boyfriend and I want to get married in New York City in May 2010. It is just going to be just the two of us (no guests)at our wedding, but we do not want to get married at the clerk's office. Can any one suggest locations in New York City which are more directed to the couple than weddings with guests. Suggestions of places with packages greatly accepted. Please be sure to tell me how you found out about your suggestion.

well for starters you have to have a witness.

Then you can hire a justice of the peace to marry you in Central Park, Brooklyn Botanical gardens, brooklyn heights park (overlooks all of manhattan), Battery Park (overlooks the harbor, statue of liberty, etc,) just to name a few places. You might need permission if you want to get married at the top of the empire state building or something like that.

Contact the city clerk's office to find out what you need to do and to direct you to a JP.

You can also check with some hotels in Manhattan to see if they have couples only wedding packages. When my husband & I thought of doing a destination wedding in Mexico, most hotels . resorts have wedding packages for couples only. They can also provide the witnesses. Good luck!
