Have you ever posted anything reckless on a networking website that cost you a friend?

or a job or your peace of mind?

London, Aug 14 (ANI): A woman lost her job after abusing her boss on Facebook - forgetting that they were friends on the networking website.

The woman named "Lindsay" updated her Facebook status with "OMG [oh my God] I HATE MY JOB!!" and went on to accuse her boss of being "pervvy" (sic) and complained that she was forced to do "**** stuff".

Her boss 'Brian' saw her status and posted a reply. He mocked her for forgetting that they were friends on Facebook and could access everything that she wrote.

Social content website Digg has posted screen shots of the exchange, which appears to be genuine, under the headline "Why you shouldn't have your boss on Facebook", reports the Telegraph.

Lindsay, who has a picture on Facebook, appears to be around 20 years.

She wrote on her profile, "My boss is a total pervvy ******, always making me do **** stuff just to **** me off!! ******!"

Brian, an older man who is pictured wearing sunglasses, replied the same day and said, "Hi Lindsay, I guess you forgot about adding me on here?"

He added: "Firstly, don't flatter yourself. Secondly, you've worked here 5 months and didn't work out that I'm gay? Thirdly, that '**** stuff' is called your 'job', you know, what I pay you to do. But the fact that you seem to be able to **** up the simplest of tasks might contribute to how you feel about it.

"And lastly, you also seem to have forgotten that you have 2 weeks left on your 6 month trial period. Don't bother coming in tomorrow.

"I'll pop your P45 in the post and you can come in whenever you like to pick up any stuff you've left here. And yes, I'm serious."

The exchange has since been circulating on emails and blogs all over the Internet. (ANI)

  • The bosses response is a bit hard nosed (bosses should be able to take a bit of flack). I suspect that there was something going on that isn't in the tale. She was a dumbo posting that, so I guess she left him no option really.

I've probably cheesed off a few people online, but nobody from my life. I don't really have a life to mess up anyway. lol.

Haha, that's hilarious.. stupid woman. No, I've never posted anything like that on Facebook before, I try to steer away from saying offensive stuff like that just in case. Plus, did you know that Facebook retains every single piece of information you submit - they must have a lot of blackmail-worthy stuff out there. Mark Zuckerberg can rule the world MWUAHAHAHA!

    Uhh, sorry about that outburst

Firstly I would like to say anyone who does something like this then loses their job shouldnt be suprised! Its very easy to put things on fb/twitter etc in the heat of the moment that could cost you dearly!

There is a group on FB called "I hate bullsh*tters" and two of my friends who are the biggest bullsh*tters have joined it and I so wanted to say something but didnt because I couldnt be bothere with the backlash lol.

No, i try to keep my online life totally separate from my personal life. I dont let real friends or co-workers know of any screen names i use on various boards such as Yahoo Answers for instance, where i might end up posting something that would offend someone.

She actually tried to go to a tribunal with that but upon being told she would have to front £5000. to cover fees if she lost the case, she backed off! Six of one and half a dozen of the other there though! Not much of a boss and a lazy worker!

    Yikes Faith

    What a mistake that was.

Yes, i've posted stuff on FB and regretted it. Nothing crazy like that, just innocent stuff that got misinterpreted. But it did cost me some friends

  • I actually received this screenshot via e-mail today. Laughed for ages.

You've gotta be pretty slow to make this kind of error.

And I don't blame her boss.

    Guess she'll live and learn...

And know not been this reckless on line, have put my foot in it conversationally on more than one occasion though..

Serves her right! Employment nowadays is hard to find and I am sure that not only will there be loads of people after her Job, but also that she will find it very, very difficult to find another.
