Do Maya or Maia mean anything in Japanese?

I want to name a teriyaki restaurant after my daughter, "Maia-san Teriyaki"...Just want to make sure it won't mean anything offensive or weird before I go ahead with the plan. Thanks.

As Mr.'Nameless Alien' told you, Maya or Maia doesn't mean offensive or weird in Japanese. Maya is just a girl's name.

    Don't worry!

Maya is a Japanese female name. Maia does not sound a Japanese name, but it sounds a female name. Both of them won't mean anything offensive or weird.

If your restaurant were in Japan, the name would be "Maia-san no Teriyaki Ya", which means Maia-san's Teriyaki House(Restaurant).

Maya or Maia doesn't mean anything offensive and Maya is sometimes used for a girl's name in Japan. The meaning of it depends on kanjis which are used.
