My scooter (with weed eater engine) will run great with a squirt of gas in the carburetor?
The engine will not start on a prime. No matter how much i prime. The spark plug is new and sparks great. If i open the throttle and squirt some gas into the carburetor, it starts on two pulls, and runs fine. I i kill the engine and start it within a minute it will start with no prep. But if it sits for 2 minutes or more i have to squirt gas in the carb again. What's the problem?

Sounds like the float in the carburetor needs to be adjusted. Take it to a small-engine mechanic; he won't charge you much. It's a quick job.

I have a large property, so do all my nieghbors & practically everyone has to buy a new expensive one every year. Wish they would last for years... I would ck fuel line, filter, (is yours in the tank, sometimes they plug up & are at the end of the pick up tube. maybe the diaphram, but probably the gas runs & fills the filter in the tank very slowly & then doesnt get enough gas to run properly until it fills up again. Obviously the ign system is OK & carb is basically OK, have had same problem in the past.
