If I'm double majoring can it be in two different colleges, within the University?

For example..If I was admitted to the College of Natural Sciences in UT... and wanted to double major, could I do that with a subject that's at the College of Liberal Arts? Or would I have to choose another subject in Natural Sciences?

Update:

I don't have a University to check with really..I was just curious and used that one as an example. Just wondering what the normally is the case

Is this in the US? If so, then generally you can choose any two majors for a double major program.

However, if they are in widely disparate areas, you may end up having to take more than the 120 credits normally required for graduation.

This is because when you double major, the required courses for the first major serve as the electives for the second major. But if the majors are very different (say.... chemistry and history, for example), then this might not work. Most majors have some restrictions on at least some of the required electives - some may have to be in the same dept and others may have to be in cognate depts (so, for example, a sociology degree may allow you to take electives in psychology, criminology, political science, etc.)

I even have one in company Communications and German. the 1st one replaced into my considerable considerable, and that i've got been given the German considerable because of the fact I spent a semester distant places and surpassed the language examination. i presumed, why not get the two if I had adequate credit to qualify. So it is not in all probability one or 2 majors, at the same time it rather is a double considerable. desire that provides some perception.

Check with your university for what they will allow.
