Vegetarians! If KFC did a Vegetarian option, would you have it?

Ok, so I know KFC is all about Chicken, but if they reproduced a number of their dishes with Quorn or some kind of substitute and cleaned up their "Fries", then would you eat there? Frankly, I can't stand the fact my lungs get replaced with chickens every time I'm forced to go in to wait for my friend to get food... it's such an offensively potent smell.

I suppose I'd give it a try.

Anyway, they say they don't due it to low demand for such items.

Well, how the bloody hell would they know about Vegetarian demand without anything Vegetarian? (Except for "Sides", but who'd go to KFC for those?)

Well I am not Vegetarian, I am Vegan.

But I know if they did a Vegan option I would certainly never eat it, I never want to go anyway near one of those dumps. They have notoriously horrific hygiene standards. The Vegan dish would probably have been contaminated anyway. They have dangerous levels of salmonella in there buildings. Plus my money would be going toward one of the most evil organizations around in modern day UK.

I don't do fast food vegetarian options. I'm really paranoid that there's meat in there somewhere. My friend dragged me to mcdonalds last week saying I could get fries or a milkshake. Those fries still have beef flavor and I havn't had milk since I was five. I had water while she ate a double cheeseburger in front of me. I really just hate fast food resturants no matter what but I would be happy with their effort :)

No. I don't eat fast food. Period. I don't support companies that get rich off of poor health. I believe that the loudest vote is a vote with your money. Now,if KFC became a health conscious company that didn't pay other people to inhumanly raise and kill innocent living creatures for their own profit, then MAYBE. I don't care what places have veg*n options,it also matters if it's a place that cares about the health of the costumers and the world.

These large companies do market research into other products. Obviously they would create more work for little return, that will be the reason why they don't go into the vegetarian market.

Here in Spain, our only vegetarian restaurant went bust because of dwindling demand.

Now because of PETA Canada does have a veggie burger at KFC I still wouldn't want to eat it though 'cause it was probably still cooked on the same chicken grill plus it's fast food and I do not want to support fast food unless I have to e.g. road trip etc...

I wouldn't eat there or give KFC my money at all until they reform their animal welfare standards, however if they did reform their standards and offered a veg*n option, I would recommend it to my other vegetarian and non-vegetarian friends.

I personally don't eat fast food, as I haven't since I read Fast Food Nation.

I definitely wouldn't. One of my biggest reasons for being vegans is because I'm concerned about good health, so I steer clear of fast food in general. Not to mention, whatever they came up with, it would still come from a company that has a massive hand in fueling the factory farming meat industry.

I would applaud them for giving it a try, however. It's great to see more and more appearing in more and more places all the time.

For me personally, one of the reasons I don't eat meat is because of the conditions the animals are kept in (and KFC often comes under fire for the conditions of their animals.) I wouldn't eat it because I wouldn't want to give my money to such a company.

I don't usually eat even the vegetarian foods at places like that, because I find that it's usually greasy or stale and gross. One time my family picked up some food from Burger King and brought me one of their veggie burgers. Well it was on a squished, stale bun with wilted lettuce and slathered in mayo and just wasn't good at all. I don't consider myself a picky eater, but fast food is one thing that I just can't stomach.

KFC in Canada has a policy of keeping their chickens more humanely than most other fast food chains, and they have a 'fake chicken' sandwich that is AMAAAZING. It's so good.
