Kenmore refrigerator Model 106 is not cooling in Fridge sect, Freezer has excess ice. The manual temperature setting do not seem to be making a difference.

    You need to call the manufacturers of the fridge, or call a repairman.

    The knob labeled something like "fresh food temperature" or "refrigerator temperature" is really a vent that diverts cold air from the freezer (where it is made) into the fridge section. Maybe it is not open wide enough. Yes there is a fan to circulate that cold air and if it is not running that is a big problem in getting the cold air where it belongs. The sensor is detecting the freezer temperature so as long as the freezer is cold the sensor is OK. Sears will send someone out to fix it and charge you about $200 for the labor and parts (most of that is labor fee and the parts are overpriced) but it beats having your food spoil.

    You have a defrost cycle problem, or a bad fan. Call a repair company.
