computer takes way too long to POST?
im thinking its something to do with the motherboard possibly a ram slot (just had to replace a 512 ram chip) whether i boot 1 chip or two it is slow sometimes i have to switch off the power and hold the pwr button for 20sec to make it work, then it usually goes to POST a lot faster
any ideas/ questions pls post

I would try re-seating both ram modules. As a side not, if you have this enabled, I would recommend enabling "fast boot" or "quick boot" in the CMOS setup screen. This basically bypasses the bit by bit RAM check that your computer goes through during every single boot up process. Certainly not a necessity unless you have reason to believe your RAM is malfunctioning.
