I have had headaches every day since i have been pregnant. I have gotten more used to them now, they were alot worse in the first trimester. I have used alot of ice packs on my head, the cold just helps alittle. Really I found nothing that works good.

  • Yes, those terrible headaches... Sinus related or not... I went through them through my entire first trimester. I thought it only happened to me.. Those excruciating headaches made me feel so weak and in sooo much pain. I googled so much information on the internet and what I found was that because of the increase amount of blood I was subject to getting them.

I then began to analyze them a little more in depth and realized that when it was humid or I was in a kind of warm/hot location/area my headaches will begin and last days.

I would call my docs office and they would recommend Tylenol, that definitely did not work and never did even before I became pregnant.

My suggestion is try to lay down and put wet warm towels on your head, it should take some of the pressure off. It did for me... Or try Vicks, that also helped even though it was not a cold that I had.

Once the first trimester is over, it should all pass by. I don't get the sinus headaches anymore and here I am 29 weeks pregnant.

Hopefully, those headaches go away- Mine were sooo painful that it would make me tear and cry because of all the pressure on my head.

Good Luck, hopefully you are almost done with those headaches.

I was experiencing the same thing, I told my doctor and she said that at this stage it had nothing to do with your blood pressure, it's too early.

I also used to take paracetamol, drink a lot of water, and what seemed to work for me was to put on some Vicks (I know this is weird but it helped me a lot) cuz I was trying to limit the medication I take. As well as sitting in the dark, try not to go out in the morning or afternoon.

My doctor gave me a prescription for a drug called Midrin that she said is safe. I had bad migraines for a while and the over the counter things were not working. Thank God my headaches have gone away and only lasted a few weeks. Good luck.

  • All you can do is take the minimum amount of paracetamol, drink plenty of fluids and have a hour or so nap during the afternoon.

Get your blood pressure checked, it is important, especially during pregnancy.
