Why do men seem to prefer younger women?

There are a couple of reasons...

1. Evolution has geared us to look for the best breeding partner and the younger a woman is, the more likely she is to be healthy and have a good reproductive path ahead of her.

#1 explains a good 80% of the 'reasons' that men are attracted to younger females... It doesn't matter WHAT species... Younger = Less Wear And Tear and Less Genetic Aberrations.

2. As was stated above and below my answer... Young women are more apt to put up with a LOT of bullshit that older women are not going to cope with. Young women, in their naivety, still have the idea in their heads that "THIS will last forever" and don't know HOW to break it off with a partner that she doesn't want to be with any more.

3. Younger women, again, in their naivety, that are trauma survivors still have the "Freeze" reaction to further traumatic events... So men that victimize go after the young women that just have the aura that SCREAMS "I MAKE A GREAT VICTOM!" because they know that they will react to an assault or even an abusive relationship with freezing and internalizing... Instead of running to the cops.

No, I don't agree with that. I think it can be a mental and physical thing. Is it mostly physical? Yes. But, older men see younger women for various reasons, all personal to them. Experience and maturity levels don't play a part everytime a man seeks a younger woman. But, dealing with older men, most have told me that they just want to getaway from the stress they're dealing with with the person they are involved with. And with most younger women, we don't have the same problems and attitude towards life as older women do.

Physical? Of course. But don't always rule out the possibility of something more there.

It's more of a control and dominating issue, and showing of the "Barbie" they have. Big deal. Everyone loses under these pretenses.

Personally, I don't care for lady folks far outside of my peer group, especially a lot younger. The meeting of the minds and etc., IS very important to me. Younger isn't necessarily better by any means.

Well some of it is a physical thing. But most of the time it has to do with "vitality". This is more of an issue of being younger not for experience sake, but for the sake of attaining something that you otherwise may not because of your age. I think many men feel as though they are reliving their youth when they try to get with a woman who is younger. Basically it makes them feel younger as a result. The same thing goes for women. Older women try to relive their youth by getting in relationships with younger men. Physicality is a part of it, because as you age your body does change. But it has more to do with feeling young while you are older.

I'm Being Stalked By A Loser provide the near perfect answer in part #1. It is evolutionary. In the Stone Age and we still have our Stone Age brains, younger women were more fertile and far more likely to survive long enough to raise her children.

Primitive selection. Younger women were more likely to be fertile. But some guys actually prefer older women if they find them attractive.

Second: guys like girls who are younger and more naive. Women who are older and just as experienced as them are more intimidating. It's a power trip; they want to be able to impress the one their with.

For the same reasons a woman does I'd guess. Usually its fleeting and spontaneous. Mostly I'd say its a physical union.

Older men like to control younger inexperienced women where as older women know better then to put up with their non sense.

I think its about looks, (the woman's) and ego (theirs). Funny, because 50 year old Michelle Pfieffer is far more attractive than any twenty year old I've ever known.
