no is a correct answer... but here are the details.
you will not be able to change your current plan at all once it's instituted, if you do, you will have to drop your insurance and enroll in universal. if you're insurance is provided via your job and you change jobs, then you will not be able to start a new policy with a new insurance provider through your new job and have to enroll in universal.

additionally, as the poster above me stated, most businesses would drop their health care for business reasons. with the increase in capital gains taxes and a shrinking economy, their profit margin is shrinking to a point where many businesses are just barely breaking even. dropping health care allows them to keep some of their earnings.
although, if you look at the debt (http://www.usdebtclock.org/) universal is going to be unsustainable for a long period just looking at the numbers.
if you are not interested in universal, there is a bill being floated in Arizona that will defend citizen's rights from government enforcement of any health care they don't want to be a part of. it's an easy read and if you agree with personal rights to choose and want to ensure that, you can send a copy to your congressmen at both state and federal level for consideration to adapt to their various levels as well.

i love when people cite opinion articles and videos as evidence to support their opinion and not the actual legislation. just tells me they are letting someone form their opinion for them instead of finding out the facts for themselves.

He saya no, but it is a lie. Your husbands company will over time look at the costs of paying for private insurance and say it is cheaper to pay the 8%payroll tax and put everyone in the govt plan. Since no private insurer can compete with a public plan, they will gradually fall away. This is how he plans to eventually get to a one payor plan. (even though the majority of the people do no want this, he does not care). .The bill they come up will then go to the senate, the senate willhave their own and then it goes to comprimise. IF it comes out with a govt option , you can kiss private insurance goodbye, it may take 10 years, but it will happen. This is why it's so important to refeect any private plan now.

Many businesses would switch to the government plan and therefore the employees of such businesses would be "forced" into Obama's public option. Employers small and large will have every incentive to dump their plans and transfer their workers to the public rolls. The result will inevitably be a cascade of failures or withdrawals from the market by commercial insurers, with the public option as the only option.
A public program won't compete in a way that any normal business would recognize. As an entitlement, Congress's creation will enjoy potentially unlimited access to the Treasury, without incurring the risks or hedging against losses that private carriers do. As people gravitate to "free" or heavily subsidized care, the inevitably explosive costs will be covered in part with increased outlays to keep premiums artificially low or even offer extra benefits. Lacking such taxpayer cash, private insurance rates will escalate. o_O

a million. Its Unconstitutional. Requiring human beings to purchase scientific wellness coverage isn't one between the powers of the federal government. examine article 2 section 8. and the 10th exchange 2. It makes no economic or economic experience. Giving something away for unfastened (different human beings cost) will of path force up the cost of coverage for it, simply by fact every person will commence utilising it, even while they do no longer choose it. 3. there is no unfastened selection. Democrats are people who created Homo's in the 1st place. that's extra advantageous to enable coverage business enterprise's compete throughout state strains. that's the style you create opposition and selection. In some states every person is caught with basically one coverage co. 50+ selections of scientific wellness coverage is extra advantageous then one. 4. ask your self why none of those Democrats help government controlled wellness care on the state point the place it would extremely be constitutional. 5. that's an exceedingly slippery slope to socialism. Make an exception to the form in one section, quickly you'lll have the government taking over each and every business enterprise as quickly as there's a topic. issues that they maximum possibly created in the 1st place. be suspicious of Liberals like tybalts, who declare human beings lie approximately Obama's healthcare yet in no way provide an occasion. They in no way handle the Constitutional issues approximately it the two. they simply forget approximately approximately them. MarcThym "furnish for the undemanding protection" Duh!

Obama hasn't offered a plan. He already demanded HR 3200 be passed before the recess so it's fair to say THAT bill is "Obama's plan" even though he still maintains he's never seen it. Also, unless there's later breaking news, it's still the only plan that's been made available, that we can see, that we know actually exists at all outside of a committee room. So, assuming HR 3200 became law:
> Yes, you have to give-up your insurance, but not right away. Although there is no requirement for you to drop it as such, your company is forbidden to EVER enroll another client into your group to replace those who leave or die-off so it WILL HAVE TO end the plan and will most-likely do so not very long after the bill takes effect.
> All potential alternative plans will be in the same boat - forbidden by law to enroll anyone - ever, including you. Therefore your only choice will be the government "option." The only exception would be if you're a government employee. A few hundred companies will still be allowed to sell plans to you in that case, but the options will be all but eliminated. They will essentially mirror the government plan except you "get to" pay a company for them instead of paying into the government plan.
> You WILL be insured (with your only available "option,") or face penalties. Going uninsured and "self-paying' is not acceptable.
In fact, you won't have to give up your health care plan but your health care plan WILL have to cease existing.
ALL western nations with universal health care blame it for their perpetually shrinking GDPs and perpetually expanding poverty and are ALL looking for ways to move back to a private system. It's not easy since the market mechanisms no longer exist. That's why they're warning the U.S. "DON'T DO IT!"

Possibly. On page 16 of the current HR3200 bill, it states that you must be in a qualified health insurance program or you will have to go onto the public option. Question is, who determines what is a qualified program?
If your health policy does not meet the governments requirements, it will be declared non qualified and you will be forced onto the government option. If your employer decides that a qualified program is too expensive, you will be put on the government option.
The devil is in the details and people do not want you to know this.

How can your insurance company compete with a public option that doesn't have to make a profit? Your insurance company has to make a profit just to stay in business. Think about it. It's been this nitwits plan since before he ever ran for president to nationalize health care and put the private companies out of business. You know, so he can put the health care of all these union employees on the back of the American people. Some more pay back to all his union buddies.
But he's soooo coooool. What a guy.

NO, THERE WILL BE MORE CHOICE, NOT LESS.
FIRST OF ALL, THERE WILL BE NO NATIONALIZATION OF HEALTH CARE!
[I go to the Dallas VA Medical Center and the government doesn’t even run THAT!]
There is NO "OBAMA CARE" The plan[s] are being built by congress.
The ONLY THING THE GOVERNMENT WANTS TO DO IS ADD AN OPTION:
NON-PROFIT INSURANCE FOR THE POOR & UNEMPLOYED
MORE CHOICE DOES NOT EQUATE WITH ‘TAKEOVER’!
There are 45 million Americans who have NO health care options except Emergency Rooms!
The USA is 37TH in HEALTH CARE!
These are NOT my idea of the best!
THE WORST POSSIBLE CHOICE IS TO DO NOTHING!
Health care costs are:
Increasing 2-3 times faster than wages
Currently eating up 18% of our money
AND, WILL DESTROY OUR ECONOMY UNLESS WE FIX IT!
Want to know WHO DOESN’T want ANY CHANGE?
THE INSURANCE COMPANIES!
THEY EAT 40% OF EVERY HEALTH CARE DOLLAR.
For what we are already paying, WE COULD INSURE EVERY MAN, WOMAN & CHILD IN AMERICA WITH ZERO DEDUCTIBLE, ZERO COPAY COVERAGE!
OK, SO HOW WILL THEY PAY FOR IT?
>DRUG DISCOUNTS
>ELIMINATING WASTE
>LOCKING UP PEOPLE WHO COMMIT FRAUD
>CONCENTRATING ON PREVENTATIVE CARE
[Currently, the only option for the poor is the E.R. at county hospitals and that’s THE MOST EXPENSIVE CARE THERE IS!]

Not right now.
Damnocrats have agreed that it will be in 3 yrs. At that time:
1. At this time if the insurance co. doesn't meet the govt criteria then
it will be forced out of business. (insurance co. will have broken
the law)
2. At this time if your employer is paying more for private insurance
then they can force you onto the the govt plan.
So when the politicans say No right now their not lying. Their just now giving you all the facts. Thus in 3 yrs Yes you can be forced on the govt plan.
It's not just what you ask them but what you don't ask them that's going to hurt you. Also, any bill that's passed can eventually have amendments attached to it to change anything they want.
TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR & I'LL TELL YOU.

Linda C fails to note that the insurance company is the decider on whether or not you get to keep it. If they fail to meet the regulations forbidding them to drop you if you use their service or refusing you coverage for preexisting conditions, then they will be shut down.
And more and more employers are dropping plans anyway because they can't afford the premium increases. Only a little under 60% of employers provide insurance now, and if the situation remains unchanged and no public option is available, you will be faced with no choice at all except to take out a second mortgage on your house to buy your own coverage.
