Hmmm...Jerry Jones STILL refuses to raise the scoreboard?

What's the GENIOUS of NFL owners gonna say when Cowboys Punter Mat McBriar hits it and it results in a Cowboys loss?...*LOL*...The moron...

Update:

Justin...I would realize that the punter hitting it in the preseason could mean that MY punter might hit it and cause MY team to lose...THINK about it...DUH...

Obviously you don't know how passionate YOUR owner is about WINNING...

That would be funny and could happen!Karma does work its way into our lives once in awhile!

I understand that he wants the NFL to pay for the moveing of it because they approved where it is

It's really ridiculous... the whole thing is.

The league rules stipulate that any overhanging structure must be a minimum of 85' off the field. The TV/scoreboard is 90, putting it well above the league minimum. Even so, it isn't outside the realm of possibility for a punter to hit it. The thing is that it is a correctable problem. A 2 million dollar correctable problem, but correctable nonetheless.

The way the rules work, it currently would be a do-over if a team hit the scoreboard. Basically a "no harm, no foul" type of thing (which I highly disagree with). Much like in golf, Jones is expecting punters to play the field as conditions permit. Afterall, it's a disadvantage to his team as well, right?

Wrong. By playing in that stadium week in and week out, a punter can learn the ins and outs of the scoreboard location, and the best way to put a high hanging punt down the field without hitting the structure. It gives the Cowboys a distinct advantage. Furthermore, what kind of rules apply to the scoreboard? Can you challenge if the ball hit the structure? Will it be a free booth review if you want to challenge that? Current rules don't really touch on this subject.

The NFL needs to do the following: Edit the rule book to make a new minimum height to adjust for today's stronger kickers. This would result in the Cowboys stadium being forced to meet league requirements. However, because it was originally built up to league specifications, the league would have to pick up the tab for the construction. It's the only "fair" thing to do. In all reality, this outdated rule should have been updated when Indianapolis discovered that a 90' overhanging structure would be too low.

Ive been saying that if Goodwell wants him to take the NFL board seriously than he needs to start laying out some serious threats, like decomissioning the Cowboys and opening a new franchise, there are tons of cities that are dying for an NFL team and Jones wont want his 5 billion dollar stadium to sit and rot because he wouldnt spend an extra 2 million (wow like that money isnt sitting in the back pocket of the cowboys second string players, and if they have it he surely uses it as toilet paper) He is just being stingy and stubborn.

J.J. is an idiot however, he did ask the NFL hw high he should put it before doing the job. From what i've read it is at the height that it he was told to put it at. The rules state that if it hits an object it is to be re-kicked. The other thing is that the kicker that hit it was actually kind of trying to hit it.

The other rumour is that U2 is playing there in October and it will be reaised for a prop their bringing.

On another note the picture I seen of the stadium is crazy, I think i'd catch myself watching the screenrather than the game.

He needs to text Bill Polian and ask "how hard was it to move the HD boards to end zone walls?" so Bill can text him back "you're the owner, not hard at all, get 'er done".

Lucas Oil had the same issue, but their owner brought in punter and said "try to hit them" and when one football glanced off the boards, their owner told the designer to move the boards to end zone walls, away from the field.

Show some logic Jones. We all know you have the most expensive stadium in the NFL. Now let's make it legit before regular season.

Jim Baw gave a very good answer. I will love it if the Cowboys lose because of the scoreboard. And get eliminated from the playoffs because of that scoreboard.

hitting the huge scoreboard will not result in any loss, it will result in a do-over. the nfl rules indicate that there needs to be a 85 ft clearance, the scoreboard is at 90 ft. he's not breaking any rules. and the nfl has already decided not to ask him to raise it. he's a genius, not dumb. he's keeping his new stadium on national news. and now yahoo! idiots are posting about it to the world. that's why he's a billionaire, and we're not.

He should raise it that way his punters won't always have the though of hitting it in the back of their minds lol.

just this year and see how it effects the play during season. i will lmao if in a playoff game they lose cause the punt hits the scoreboard and bounces into arms of other team and he runs in for a touchdown winning the game then jerry jones will lower that screen

    2 words, re-do!

This is the fault of the NFL and 90' is adequate anyways. The punter who hit it last week practiced for like 10 minutes before the game until he figured out how to hit it. Go to the games and watch instead of getting all your information from the tabloids (ESPN).

By the way, I bet you have been able to make more money than Jerry, won a national championship (co-captain) as a college player, and a few super bowls too. . . I know you have. It is one thing to make statements out of observation, and another to make them out of hate. You decide which one makes you look intelligent and which one a moron.
