Why does Time falsely say Ted Kennedy was a Catholic?

You are correct- Mr. Kennedy self- excommunicated from the Church because he aided and abetted countless abortions.

Unfortunately, we no longer have strong bishops who will forcefully confront evil politicians....Mr. Kennedy was apparently led to believe he was still a communicant member of the Church.

Perhaps though he was contrite in the end and died a Catholic, who knows?

Because Ted Kennedy was baptized Catholic, came from a Catholic family, and maintained he was Catholic throughout his life. The fact that he did not practice and/or believe as a Catholic seems to have been lost on him and on others.

Why is it false? Anything I have ever seen states that Ted Kennedy, like the rest of his family, was Roman Catholic.

Ted Kennedy proclaimed himself to be a Catholic, but who is to say that before he died he did not make amends with God for his sins.

<sigh> How did you graduate High School without learning that JFK was the first Catholic President? Of Course the whole family is Catholic.

I know what you mean. He continually thumbed his nose at everything the Catholic Church taught about homosexual relationships, abortion, embryonic stem cell research, women and married priests, euthanasia but he is such a "MODEL CATHOLIC" according to the media and his faith was sooo important to him. What a load of crap!!

That whole extended Kennedy family was Catholic.
