Hi, you can try one of the natural treatments available on the Internet (just google "natural treatment of psoriasis") and take your pick. Some of them do actually work. For my psor. I use herbal cream by Champori quite successfully. It takes just a couple of weeks to clear the spots and they then stay clear for months on end.
Try it: Champori is available online without prescription and comes with money back guarantee so if it doesn't work for you - it's free.

The main cause of psoriasis is overreaction of the immune system. I try to eat healthy food and avoid stress as much as I can in order to prevent flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I've turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use herbal remedies from serenaskin.com, which aim at the root of the disease - the immune system, and are steroid-free.
After about 2 weeks of using ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I just continue with anti-psoriasis extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.

I had a fairly severe case of psoriasis before my rheumatologist (I"ve been blessed with psoriatic arthritis as well) put me on Prednisone, weekly Methotrexate injections and Remicade infusions every 8 weeks. I'm 99.5% clear now. I tried supplements and eating right, but it wasn't NEARLY enough. I'm clear, and I can walk, but believe me, there's a hefty price to pay with these biologics. Not just literally (my insurance gets billed over $9,000 every 8 weeks for Remicade), but a price to pay with your immune system. I caught a bad cold last fall that turned into sinus surgery the following spring. As you probably already know, once you know you've got psoriasis, in a way, you're f***ed for life.

Hi Clare,
When my psoriasis started it was just a little rash on one of my toes. Then it started on my hands, but only around my knuckles, and then my elbows. It was as if I was being taken over by something spreading on my skin.
I went to see a dermatologist who started me on a cream called Lotriderm, I was only able to see the man every 3 mths. I was given different creams over a couple of years. Mainly, Canesten and Dovobet.
They seemed to hold it at bay,but since I last saws the dermatologist I have got a lot of big spots, looking like chicken pox on my lower back
and all over my Bum and legs, they just came all at once.
I am at a loose end now, keep applying the creams but without much effect.
The dermatologist is ill at the moment, should have seen him 20th August.
I know that there are a lot of different types of psoriasis, but that is mine.

I went to my doctor and he prescribed me a medication. Im not sure what its called but it worked. Ask your doctor what kind of medications he recommends.
