If the democrats decide to nuke the health care bill through, what do you think will be the public reaction?
Notwithstanding the 2010 election's, what other consequences do you think the democrats would face? Zero bipartisan participation through 2012? Large protest rallies? Civil disobedience? Riots? Anarchy?
tobereal...after watching the amount of civil outbursts during the townhall meetings, I wonder about the ability of restraint by the public on both sides. I don't agree with some of the yelling and shouting at these meetings, although I do not think that the republicans are the only ones to blame. There are a lot of ringers sent in by the DNC.

A recall attempt can be made in several states where it is most feasible. Conservatives and independents with common sense will fight within the law with civility. Yes, there will be a few nuts too but hey there are nuts at both ends aren't there ?

If people do not like the result the Republican will win big in 2010/2012 ( depending when it takes effect) and the democrats left will back down and vote to reverse the change or at least remove the offending provisions. Most people won't care unless it effects them, they are busy living and do not obsess about politics.

they could. i do no longer think of that there is GOP Senator left under the age of fifty years previous. i might prefer to work out 40 previous people take turns interpreting the yellow pages 24/7 till they ultimately crumple and break the fillibuster.

There would probably be some protests.
The largest reaction would be in the 2010 elections.......... some Democrats would be replaced, providing the citizens do not forget by then.

Verbal and physical protests. It will take some time for the full weight of what happened to sink in mentally and financially. Then? All bets are off.

thy would screw themselves over. last time i checked(and im not sure about this) most americans were against the bill. if they forced it through ppl would get pissd off, because the dems chose to fulfill there own agenda rather than do what the ppl wanted. they would then probably lose control of congress.

Republicans would do nothing but cry.
Remember, When Obama came in, Economy was done for....Do you really think that 3 years from now..the economy wont go drastically up?? Who do you think will get credit?? Exactly.
2010 would be bad...2012 the Dems would be back.

The people against the health care reform are a small faction of the people...they just whine louder! Obama won overwhelmingly in this country...most of the people whining are on Medicare anyway!

I'm not sure....
Maybe, for reference, we could all check what happened when public education was "nuked" through.....gosh those evil scum......total loss of my right to whatever kind of education I wanted.....or police & fire departments (I hate not being able to pay for my own private protection and security), the idea of state paid pro bono attorneys (for those who can not afford), etc.......oh yeah - and when those - "socialists" - added the airforce to the defense of the country - that wasn't in the constitution.....just "nuked" it and forced it yet another government sponsored bunch to protect our country. Darn them !!!
