I have been offered a job in Melbourne but don't know if I should take it.?

I am an American and am wondering how much different Australia really is. Like how is the cost of living compared to the West Coast of the U.S.? Also, how bad are the insects? Are the people there friendly and accepting? My husband is Australian but from a different part. So, he doesn't have any answers really.

Aussies are Aussies. If your husband is one then he is no different to other Aussies, unless of course he is a naturalised Aussie then he may not be fully indoctrinated into the way of life. One city is no different to another.

There are no insects in Melbourne, apart from a few flies and mosquito's, but not as many of them as other cities.

Cost of living is relative to pay rates, so can't really be compared.
