Why the need for Jesus to die to save us and allow us to go to heaven?
It's not like no one ever went to heaven before 2,000 years ago. Or are Christians saying that people did go to heaven before but hey God wanted to change the rules and sent his Son(if you believe God can have a Son) to die for everyone. If God is so powerful and it was easy enough to reach heven for millions of years before Jesus walked the earth why the need now for Jesus to die for us??????????

Brother, The answer is simple that Jesus never died. Christian bible proves this too that He never died. Now what you are saying is believe of christians which actually contradicts with the bible.
According to St. Paul, there is nothing that Christianity can offer mankind, other than the blood and gore of Jesus. If Jesus did NOT die, and he was NOT resurrected from the dead, then there can be NO salvation in Christianity! "For all your good deeds", says the Christian dogmatist, "are like filthy rags" — (Isaiah 64:6).
St. Mark, tells us that at the most critical juncture in the life of Jesus — "ALL his disciples forsook him and fled"- (Mark 14:50)
If you read this verse, it is saying that there was none among desciples of jesus to witness cricifixtion.
While during his crucifixtion bible tells us that Jesus was complaining God for his apparant crucifixtion. hereunder are some verses from bible
". . . and began to be sorrowful and very depressed. Then saith he unto them, ‘my soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death' . . ."
"And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt."
(HOLY BIBLE) Matthew 26: 37-39
"And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly;
and his sweat was, as it were, great drops of blood falling down to the ground’’
(HOLY BIBLE) Luke 22:44
NOw see some events happend laterwards, and bible speak about them.hereunder are some verses of bible.. Jesus after his alleged crucifixtion appears in front of women.
Bible describes it.
Woman, why wee pest thou? Whom seekest thou? —
(HOLY BIBLE) John 20:15
The answer is that in reality they are not silly questions, though they appear to be so. He knows that this woman is looking for him, and she is disappointed on not finding him; hence the weeping. But he also knows that because of his heavy disguise she would not be able to recognise him. So metaphorically speaking he is pulling her leg. In describing this incident John, referring to Mary Magdalene, says:
"She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him".
(Still John 20:15)
Now why should she suppose that he is a gardener? Do resurrected persons look like "gardeners"? Nol! Then why does she suppose him to be a gardener? Because he is disguised as a GARDENER! Why is he disguised as a gardener? Because he was afraid of the Jews! Why is he afraid of the Jews? Because he did not die and did not conquer death! If he had died, and if he had conquered death, then he would not be afraid anymore. Why not? Because a resurrected body cannot die twice! Who says so? The Bible says so. Where? In the Book of Hebrews 9:27. It says:
". . . It is ordained unto all men ONCE to die, and after that the judgement."
Mary supposing the disguised Jesus to be a gardener, says unto him:
"Sir, if you have taken HIM hence, tell me where have you laid HIM . . ."
(HOLY BIBLE) John 20:15
Here she was looking for a LIVE person, for "HIM". And further, she wants to know as to "where have you ‘LAID’ him?" (i.e. To rest, to relax, to recuperate!) NOT, "where have you BURIED him?"
"So that I might take HIM away."
(HOLY BIBLE) John 20:15
Than Jesus reveals himself to Mary
Mad with happiness, she lunges forward to grab her Master, to pay reverence. Jesus says,
"Touch me not!"
(HOLY BIBLE) John 20:17
Why not? Was he a bundle of electricity, a dynamo, that if she touches him, she might get electrocuted? No! "Touch me not!", because it would hurt. Though he appears normal to all intents and purposes, he had, nevertheless, been through a violent, physical and emotional ordeal. It would be excruciatingly painful if he allowed her any enthusiastic contact. Jesus continues:
"For I am not yet ASCENDED unto my Father."
(HOLY BIBLE) John 20:17
"And they (the disciples), when they heard that he was ALIVE, and had been seen by her (Mary Magdalene),they BELIEVED NOT."
(HOLY BIBLE) Mark 16:11
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another reasoning that can be given that he did not die is these verses of bible
"But they were terrified and affrighted and supposed that they had seen a spirit."
(HOLY BIBLE) Luke 24:37
The above verses are for the desciples of Jesus , when they say Jesus alive the got terrified, why they got terrified because they had heared from hearsay that Jesus has died. As I have explained above and quoted a verse of the bible that at very crutial moment when jesus was being crusified none of his desciples witnessed that.
ALL his disciples forsook him and fled"- (Mark 14:50)
"Behold (have a look at) my hands and my feet, that it is I myself (I am the same fellow, man!): handle me and see; for A SPIRIT has no flesh and bones, as you see me have. . .
And he showed them his hands and his feet." (HOLY BIBLE) Luke 24:39-40
Another way to examine whether Jesus died or not
An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign (miracle), and there shall no sign (miracle) be given to it, but the sign (miracle) of the prophet, Jonah."
For as Jonah was THREE days and THREE nights in the whale's belly; so shall the son of man be THREE days and THREE nights in the heart of the earth." (HOLY BIBLE) Matthew 12:40
Now How was Jonah in belly of whale, if you ask anybody, was he dead inside belly of whale? You will get answer, No he was not dead. So dying of Jesus is like Jonah or unlike Jonah? And if you say that Jesus died but Jonah was alike can you prove both similar cases?
1. The Christians allege that Jesus was UNLIKE Jonah. Jonah was ALIVE for three days and three nights, whereas Jesus was "DEAD" in the tomb!(?)
2. Jesus said that he would be in the tomb for THREE days and THREE nights; whereas the Christians say that he was in the tomb for only ONE day and TWO nights.
Who is lying, Jesus or the Christians?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You must understand that Jesus never died because of crucifixtion. When you once accept this than there does not remain any question that Jesus died for us and he took all our sins. When He did not die for our sins than we are still responsible for them and bible rightfully says..
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father; neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. Ezekiel 18:20
None can bear the inequity of other. And every one is responsible for his/her deeds
Source(s): I am a Muslim Alhamdulillah, and our prophet and our book testify this that Jesus never died. Prophet Mohammed did not speak about this what bible is speaking above neither it is in the Quran. Quran simply states that God raised him to heaven alive. And We Muslims we believe in it. - Anonymous1 decade ago
Basically, the reason Jesus had to die for our sins was so that we could be forgiven and go to be with the Lord. Jesus is God in flesh (John 1:1,14; Col. 2:9) and only God can satisfy the Law requirements of a perfect life and perfect sacrifice that cleanses us of our sins.
All people have sinned against God. But, God is infinitely holy and righteous. He must punish the sinner, the Law breaker. If He didn't, then His law is not law for there is no law that is a law without a punishment. The punishment for breaking the Law is death, separation from God. Therefore, we sinners need a way to escape the righteous judgment of God. Since we are stained by sin and cannot keep the Law of God, then the only one who could do what we cannot is God Himself. That is why Jesus is God in flesh. He is both divine and human. He was made under the Law (Gal. 4:5-6) and He fulfilled it perfectly. Therefore, His sacrifice to God the Father on our behalf is of infinite value and is sufficient to cleanse all people from their sins and undo the offense to God.

The thinking here is that more than the simple physical blood is involved (the emphasis on blood etc. may be more poetic, figurative or symbolic in this case). The understanding is that besides the world being created (physical matter etc.) Laws that govern it were also set down which include everything from physics, to deeper spiritual laws which science has not seen. Part of this law is thought to be that evil must be followed by just punishment, and that it can claim others that fall into it's ways as it's own and exact a price from them. Christ's sacrifice however seems to be a special provision in this Law (that allows one to substitute themselves for another with regard to prices being exacted). It is thought the devil had claim on the souls of mankind via their own actions, and that by Christ doing what he did, fulfilled that claim by using himself instead. This further took away the power of the devil to make that claim, whereas Christ, being God and being fully innocent, could not remain dead dead, perhaps due to other provisions in that Law, which the devil may be unaware of. This is only one view, largely based off guessing, and it is based off the "Christus Victor" view, that sees Christ more as defeating the devil, and not so much as "appeasing an angry god".

Jesus was created by the christians to give us a reason to hate the jews and what they wrote in the old testament, that we didn't want to believe in anymore. The christians wanted a kinder God, not such a spooky and wrathful one. And the best way to usher in Jesus and get us to hate the jews was to tell us that the jews betrayed Jesus and went against him, even though all they really did was question his right to be the messiah. Christians wanted him to be the messiah, the jews knew he couldn't be, so make us all hate the jews, just like hitler tried to do.

Theres lots of things god should have the power to do but doesnt seem to, one example being noahs arc. If he wanted the bad guys dead, why not just make them dead! He can turn people into salt, why not do it to all those people? Also if he wanted to save the animals why wipe out almost all of them but the ones noah saved? Why not just put them all somewhere safe till the flood was over, i dont see why he had to kill them all as well!
If god wanted us to go to heaven he could just have done it, hes meant to be powerful enough, i dont get how this ritual sacrifice of his first born would help..

No one went to heaven before Jesus died. People waited in Abrahams Bossom. When Jesus died all those who were waiting were redeemed and sent to heaven. Thee earth to us is not millions of years old, it is thousands. Do a research on how exact carbondating is. A frog that is 5000 years old can be younger than a 2 year old apple. Anyhow Jesus had to die to redeem the ones who lived under the law and to save the ones who came after him. You see nothing unclean can enter into heaven and because we are born into sin we are unclean. Jesus blood washes us. When Adam disobeyed God he lost his dominion on earth to Satan, Jesus had to come and get it back. When God creates an order, like giving mankind dominion on earth, he will not go against his own word, for God does not lie, he is the perfect example of Holiness, and that is why he does not come and destroy us. It is because he made covenants (promises) with those before us so even though we sin, he cannot destroy us without giving us a chance of redemption. He made a way for us even though we gave our chances to Satan. You see God loves each and everyone of his creation, even in Hell he loves them and will always. But we must make a choice within the heart to serve him, because the heart is where life is, and where we shall be judged by.
Prophecy is beneficial for us and a gift given by god. Because life comes when God speaks, by his voice. So prophecy seals our faith and God already spoke it so that it shall and will and can happen. Prophecy is speaking things into existence, so that it can come to past. Life and death is in the power of the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21)
PS Zeester are you Christian, you are smart.
God can use a mind like that for greatness.
I pray he uses you greatly to understanding all his mysteries.

That's one of the critical flaws in most theistic religions, but most especially Christianity.
They believe in a being (or beings) that not only understand quantum physics, gravity, and both weak and strong electromagnetism, but actually designed them.
But they also believe that same being (or beings) couldn't figure out how to just say (and mean) "I forgive you" without prescribing a set of conditions and prerequisites?
And in Christianity, that being had to make a jewish virgin pregnant, inhabit the baby, grow up, and allow himself to be tortured and die rather than just forgive unconditionally.
I've never been able to figure out how they reconcile that.

Jesus died on the cross to overcome death. You can't overcome death if you're running away from it and the Son of God could withstand a brutal death because He knew the truth. It really comes down to Destiny. The point is not to question it, because we'll never know the answer to that question, but to fulfill it. Jesus connected so powerfully with millions because suffering is part of life and He did not escape the human condition, although theoretically He could have if he wanted to. I believe we're here on earth not to escape suffering but to understand it and realize we all do at some point. On some level "taking up the cross" is overcoming it by going through it. And believe me, everyone's got their cross to bear.

because man has tried everything he could to overcome lifes problems. We have the drug rehabilitation groups, AA, depression doctors that give out all types of medicines to heal the mind because of peoples problems but none of these things have solved man's problems. The reason he died was so that he could fill us with the power of the Holy Ghost like in the book of Acts (read it for yourself in the bible). This power allows man to overcome any problem. I was a drug addict, alcoholic, and a major depressed person but when God filled me with his spirit I became totally different not needing a pill, drugs, or a alcohol drink anymore

That's one of the reasons I left Christianity. None of the excuses I heard made any sense. And eternal punishment for original sin is not part of Judaism, which Christianity claims to come from.

Because man is depraved and born into sin and there is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood....I tell you this knowing that I am talking to one who is spiritually dead without faith in Christ and cannot understand spiritual things at all, for these things are spiritually discerned. This is not said in a "holier than thou" attitude or mindset. It is the pure Word of God. I'll post just 1 verse as an example: (don't shoot the mesenger because you don't like the message - NOTICE:
"neither can they know...")
1Cr 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
