  • Bible. Biased or not?

How is the NT credible when the Scribes had deliberately omitted books they didn't agree with, even though they were by followers of Jesus?

If given the choice, would you have wanted to read all the books, making your own opinion or are you satisfied with others deciding for you?

  • Why do you think it is that Americans don't stand up to our government?

Especially with cases like gun control where the majority want background checks and the Congress & Senate do nothing? Is there anything, in your opinion that we can even do to stop politicians who only vote based on who is lining their pockets with money or just waiting for their next election opportunity?

  • A question for Atheists regarding faith?

    I am an Agnostic Atheist.

I would like to know how you can be upset, angry, dumbfounded etc. with Christians for having faith in something they have no scientific evidence of, when Atheists also only technically have faith (strong belief) that there is absolutely no deity that could have created this universe without any concrete evidence to verify it.

I respect your beliefs. I just don't understand how you can say with complete certainty that there are no gods, just as Christians say w/ complete certainty there is.

    Thanks :)

  • A few questions for Catholics about the Apostle Creed & Mary?

I just finished reading the Apostle's Creed. I would like to know where in the bible it says Jesus went to hell for 3 days after he was crucified & that he was buried before he arose? He wasn't buried until after he arose & walked the earth for so many days.

I don't remember reading anywhere in Matthew, Mark, Luke or John about this.

Regarding the Hail Holy Queen prayer... How can you believe that praying with the rosary & praying to Mary can bring you closer to God? Didn't both God & Jesus say not to pray to anyone but God? Or to use any idols?

I then read the 15 promises of Mary & it states that we are supposed to serve her?? What the heck? How are all of these things not considered blasphemous in your religion?

    Curious Agnostic

    Thanks

  • Is there such a thing as an Agnostic Atheist?

I have the hardest time with knowing if I am an agnostic or Atheist. I have heard there are even Agnostic Atheists.. Is this true?

I don't believe in the God written in the bible, but I cannot say I know there are no Gods that created us or that there were. Logically, as I sit here, I tell myself that our universe was created by scientific evidence & theories & that the thought of any deity creating it is ludicrous but that doesn't mean I can state it as a fact.

    Thanks for any advice.

  • I'm embarrassed I don't know, but if Romney can get no running mate?

What will happen? Can a politician be forced to run alongside a presidential hopeful or how does this get decided in another matter? Because, as it looks now, No one wants to be vice president while he is president. I don't think I have ever heard of this happening before.

  • When all the voting is done, what do you suppose will happen with the Congress?

If, let's say a Republican wins, but the majority of Congress are Democrat, or vice versa? Or if Obama wins & the majority still remains Republican? Are we going to see the same scenario we have already witnessed for over a year now, with the Republicans refusing to do anything?

  • Why won't bruises on my leg go away?

Last July 4th, almost a year ago now, I was injured when a roman candle misfired & hit me in the right shin. Two places. There was only a little bleeding & the skin was tore up. The scabbing disappeared about 5 months ago, but the bruises are still there & look like they won't go away. I have never had anything like this happen. It usually takes a miracle for me to bruise & they never have lasted longer than a week. I do have congestive heart failure. I don't know if this can cause this to happen. I have been diagnosed for 5 years. I am in my lower 40's. I also have had a new thing with my finger nails growing much faster and thicker. I have been tested for diabetes. No problem there.. No yellowing of the nails. Just unbreakable. I wonder if these two things can be connected.

    Thank you for any advice.

  • What is your opinion on Eric Cantor's stance to withhold Federal aid to Virginia?

Until the funds can be met somewhere else to offset it?

  • A question about allowing immigrants to work in America with work permits?

I am trying to figure out how allowing illegal immigrants to work in our country with work permits will help our economy in the long run.

They work for low income because supposedly we won't, so their salary taxes, I suppose, are supposed to help our economy? How much help would it really be if they are taxing low salaries, not to mention that most of their income will be sent to their relatives in Mexico, not into our economy?

Are there more benefits to allowing this than what I have mentioned above?

    Thanks for any comments.

  • Republicans & Democrats, what do you believe are the reasons behind Perry's & Bachmann's determination to?

Get rid of agencies such as the E.P.A. & The Department of Labor?

If we eliminate these agencies, who then will be in control when environmental or employment, etc. issues, crises occur in the future?

I have my own opinions, but am very curious to hear others.

    Thanks :)

  • What is the use for all the gold in Fort Knox?

With the soaring prices of gold these days, I am wondering what the politicians will do to help our economy, or if they can with the amount of gold inside. Do they bring this up when debating our debt? Or is the gold an emergency only, back up plan?

    Thank you.

  • Democrats, how do you feel about our president today after the Congress' passing of this bill?

Why didn't he just enact the 14th Amendment, giving the president power to supersede the Congress & Senate, and rule to give us this debt ceiling anyway?

What kind of president goes against his own followers belief systems (The reason he was voted on in the first place), just to allow us all to completely lose everything?

I didn't realize until today just how cowardly our president is, especially after listening to our Congressmen & women both stand up to say they won't vote yes on this like our president wants. I was in awe of their courage and honesty & disgraced w/ our president's.

    How do other Democrats feel?

    Thanks

  • Could someone please explain to me exactly how the conservatives plan on bringing revenue?

to our country? All the cuts will do for years to come, is pay down our debt, not help our revenue, as far as I can see.

How have they explained that letting G.E. among others pay no taxes, & allowing them loopholes will then help our economy & job crisis, if it has already been this way forever & things still get worse each year?

Aren't we, in effect actually hurting the economy by allowing big business corporations to get away with paying no yearly taxes? Money that could go into our revenue?

How are we supposed to create jobs for Americans when there are no jobs here for them because a good amount of them have been sent overseas?

Thanks for any insight I may have missed on this subject.

  • What are your views on having pastors say a prayer before a Senate or Congress starting day?

When a business begins it's day and the employees come in, do these businesses have a priest or pastor, etc. say a prayer to everyone?

Of course not. Why? Because it is unethical and against the law. So, why & how is it allowed in this situation?

    Thanks

  • Has anyone else noticed as I have that the Republicans running for president?

Seem to be using the "religion" card a lot more this year than in the past? It seems like a contest between the candidates to see who is more religious than the other.

What do you believe are the reasons behind this? Do you think it is right or wrong to be using religion in a political arena?

  • When considering a Republican or Democrat president, have you considered the past history?

At least in the last 50 years, the statistics between each party when elected & how much deficit or surplus they have after they leave office?

Who was the last president with a surplus amount? Clinton. Democrat.

Who was the last Republican president to have a surplus amount after leaving?

Can't think of any since I have been alive.

So, why do Republicans think their way is correct if past history has shown this untrue?

  • How would giving Corporations more money, as the Conservatives want?

encourage more jobs, when they have had no restrictions yet regarding their taxes and loopholes, etc. and our employment rate is falling more and more each week?

Even with all the loopholes they have now and tax benefits, Corporations are still not hiring. Why pay into something that can't give of itself because there are no jobs to give?

  • How do you feel about the Republican decision to have a 5 member commission?

oversee the new Consumer Protection Agency Obama created?

If you don't know, this agency was created specifically to protect Americans from Mortgage companies, among others, from deceiving us in their "small print" practice they use & to make all the financial terms clear to the consumer.

Well, today the GOP made it very clear that there was no way they were going to go through with this plan w/out making sure they had complete control over this agency, by telling Obama that they wouldn't accept the man he chose as director and that they want a 5 person council to oversee the Consumer Protection Agency.

This wouldn't be too bad except for 2 important things. First, 2 of the council would be CEO's of corporations, one being an insurance company. Second, this council would have the authority to override any regulation this agency created and also make it easier for this council to do.

Anyone else see something wrong with having 2 corporation CEO's overseeing an agency specificaly designed to protect consumers from these Corporations? And not only overseeing it, but having the complete power to override any regulation they try to create?

    Incredible.
