Democrats, how do you feel about our president today after the Congress' passing of this bill?

Why didn't he just enact the 14th Amendment, giving the president power to supersede the Congress & Senate, and rule to give us this debt ceiling anyway?

What kind of president goes against his own followers belief systems (The reason he was voted on in the first place), just to allow us all to completely lose everything?

I didn't realize until today just how cowardly our president is, especially after listening to our Congressmen & women both stand up to say they won't vote yes on this like our president wants. I was in awe of their courage and honesty & disgraced w/ our president's.

How do other Democrats feel?

Thanks

Update:

EDIT: When he goes against our very beliefs and the other party has to give up absolutely nothing, yes, I am upset with Obama for not being an authoritarian. Our founding fathers wouldn't have enacted this law if it didn't have good reasons.

You're actually mad at Obama for not acting like an authoritarian lunatic? Yikes.

EDIT: Couple things; there is absolutely nothing in the 14th Amendment that would allow the President to bypass Congress and enact anything. Second, the GOP did give up something, in fact, they only got 1/12 of what they were originally asking for. Third, the Founding Fathers didn't have anything to do with the 14th Amendment. It was ratified in 1868; decades after the Founders had died. You're just acting like a sore loser, only you didn't lose. Democrats got the statistically better deal.

Conventional wisdom is he'd lose the 14th Amendment argument in the Supreme Court. That would be a disaster. The bottom line is, he's not a king and can't implement anything he wants with the filibuster in the Senate (the reason we didn't get proper health care from) and the House in Republican/Tea Party hands. You can't fault him for doing what's simply not possible.

I pretty much gave up on the wuss after we lost the public option. I've been amazed that he has had a loyal following, despite that he is carrying on the same policies that Bush did.

We should have chosen Clinton, she has a backbone. She would have fought for everything, instead of being a passive weenie that backs down at every confrontation. Obama has basically ensured that Republicans will rise to power again.

The average democrat has no idea of how good a deal this is for Obama and how bad a deal this was for America.

    Go tea party 2012.

I don't care what the hell happens now to the rino republican party and hope the Tea Party runs a third candidate for president.

He had to pass it, it was the only way he could get the debt ceiling raised to pay for all his programs, health care, tarp etc.

Its just too bad it didn't include more taxes for the evil rich people. Afterall only the upper 50% of people in the US pay taxes, they might as well pay some more.

I feel betrayed by his cowardly failure to rise up against a house of lunatics. Pretty soon, they're going to allow CEOs to print their own money... supposedly so it will "trickle down" to the now-starving peasants.

Obama got spanked, and AGAIN EVEN OBAMA SAID HE DOES NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO INVOKE THE 14TH AMENDMENT.

I really wish you leftist loons would pay attention.
