What anime do you think...?

sucked? Bad? Just wasn't up to your expectations?

This goes for both anime and manga.

1. So based on the question, put one series that you didn't like based on one episode that you saw. Why does it suck for you? Was it the characters? The plot? Bored?

2. Based on the question, put one series that you didn't like on the whole series that you watched all the way through. Why does it suck for you? Why do you think it was bad? (can also apply to ongoing series)

BA will be based on the ones that have more detail in the questions.

Update:

Please explain why the series didn't appeal to you. Don't just state the series. State the reason it didn't appeal to you.

Ok for me theres a number that i dropped because of the first episode.

    >> Spice and wolf.... omg what the heck is that even about! like its an old guy and this wierd wolf girl who is naked for the entire episode almost.... Theres like no plot after that!!! it could have been good but from what i saw it was drawn out and completly pointless DX

    >> Kaze No Stigma was another one. I just HATED the characters.... like the girl was completly insane and stupid and the guy was very depressing and awkward to watch. He reminded me of a really bad Kamui from X impressionist... also the action was SOO anticlimactic! they would power up forever and then it would just be like *poof* all done! -.- the only reason you would watch it is for the romance which also was non-exsistent

    >> Lovely Complex was one i dropped. the first episode was very quick, sudden, and obvious. Like the too tall girl and the too short guy... it was awkward to watch and they are both soo dense!!! If it wasn't for my friend who pressured me into watching the rest (like 6 months after i saw the first epie) i would have dropped it and never see it again...

    >> The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I love this anime however i DID drop it when i saw the first episode (broadcast order) i had no idea that the episode were out of order so i watch the first one and im like "omg that was the most stupid thing i have ever seen...." Like the first thing you hear is this poorly sung random mikuru song O_O and then you see all these people and your just sittting there like omg who the heck are you... and then the plot is soo random you have no idea whats even going on >_> i just had no desire to watch something i couldn't even understand....

    >> Monochrome Factor was another that i dropped... i managed to last about 4-6 episodes tho. The first episode was actually really good. It had the whole Bleach "you have to become a shadowfighter" the action wasn't bad and it was pretty funny... then you start getting farther in the series. Shirogane all of a sudden starts putting out all of these sob stories which do NOT suit his character at all. Then the main guys friends all RANDOMLY become shadow hunters too... but not to the degree that the main guy is... and at this point i was going omg its Bleach's ugly twin anime... the plot sorta dies and so does the action. Not to mention the comedy gets real old really fast

    >> Oh and Code-E... you read the description and it sounds like a cute supernatural romance. Then watching it its just like... umm where did the dialogue go? its pretty much her going to this school for the first day.... no talking nothing... and a bus breaks down... whoooo exciting -__- i guess it has to be something you have to get into after a few episodes...

    >> Nodame Cantibel i dropped just cause the first episode was WAY too boring.... nothing happens and for the entire episode i was like waiting for something but nothing came =(

    >> Emma - A Victorian Romance... soo boring i think part of me died inside after watching 10 minutes

    >> Rosario + Vampire didn't fulfil my expectations, more for guys then girls -.-

    >> Maria Holic yeh just proved im reallly no into shojo-ai and guy-to-girl crossdressing

    >> Manga wise the WORST one was Gakuen Ouji.... seriously? a school of girls that rapes guys? wth is with that?? not to mention the main girl who is the shy nerd that stays away from everyone looks like an APE when she gets mad or something bad happens! >_< i just couldnt stick with it at all

    >> Mou Kara was also pretty bad... i could stick around for a few chapters but then i was like ok this is WAY too awkward to keep reading... like the main girl is constantly being taken advantage of from the guy and the whole thing is so randomly smut O_o

    2. Based on the question, put one series that you didn't like on the whole series that you watched all the way through. Why does it suck for you? Why do you think it was bad? (can also apply to ongoing series)

    >> Ok Fushigi Yuugi... EVERYONE says its awesome and whatnot.... and with the plot and themes it has it COULD be awesome.... but theres a problem.... it isn't.

The main character is a dunce and a glutten. she can't give the guys a clear answer on who she likes, thus she tortures them for the entire series. THEN she gets naked for no reason and starts giving wrong ideas to the above guys. She constantly gets herself into situations that the above guys have to save her from and thus they get beaten up. UGH i hate her with a passion.

OH and no to mention the artwork is really old school so no guys have a bit of hotness to them. Where is the appeal in watching or reading this kind of story??

    >> Bleach is one... don't get me wrong, the manga thats out is AMAZING, so are the first 2 seasons of the anime... But then you get the fillers... omg the damn Bount arc in the anime made me cringe at the mention of vampires and then the New Captain Shunsuke arc.. i have NEVER watched more pointless anime EVER before.... The entire filler is about Ichigo babysitting this annoying little brat and some random conspirousy in soul society. WHY did they put that in!!! it doesn't even flow with the story in ANY WAY whatsoever...

And then the manga. If its out and your reading it all at once (eg theres 200 chapters and you start reading from #1) Cause then you tend not to notice if anything is dragged out or anything. However when you are reading it as it is coming out its just like omg how many chapters are they going to devote to them killing the one guy. For the people who are reading with the chapters you may have noticed that there have been like 5 chapters (aka 5 weeks) of them killing the 2nd espada... seriously its like "he's dead!" -> next chapter "oh no hes not!" -> "oh now he is" -> "urg hes angry we killed him" -> "ok now hes dying so heres his past..."

Bleach now is a good time waster... nothing else... i dont even want to keep up with the anime anymore X__X

hahah srry for the crazy long rants there....

EDIT: looking through some other answers and i decided to see Human Clock the Krystal mentioned.... omg that is a horror.... just from the art (which looks like Surrealist/ Expressionist paintings... like "The Scream") and the fact that it makes 0% sense X_X *shivers* im adding that to mangas i have dropped after 10 pages

Hm...I disliked The Big O. I mean, nothing major, I just didn't get it. It was weird - I love film noir, but the time period was confusing and the characters and their pasts were weird to me.

I mean, I don't hate it, and I'd be willing to try it again, maybe I just didn't like it because I came in during the middle of the series randomly, but...

    1. So based on the question, put one series that you didn't like based on one episode that you saw. Why does it suck for you? Was it the characters? The plot? Bored?

All three! The characters confused me, the plot was even more confusing, the setting was the most confusing of all, and because I didn't get it, I was crazy bored.

    2. Based on the question, put one series that you didn't like on the whole series that you watched all the way through. Why does it suck for you? Why do you think it was bad? (can also apply to ongoing series)

Hm...I can't say that I've watched an entire series of something I didn't watch. I stop when I get bored or annoyed.

I didn't like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Seto no Hanayome, and Air. Those are three pretty big ones that I didn't like.

    1. So based on the question, put one series that you didn't like based on one episode that you saw. Why does it suck for you? Was it the characters? The plot? Bored?

► Air was one of those shows where after the first episode, I could tell I wan't going to like it. I watched a few more just to make sure, but I knew after episode 1.

The characters just didn't appeal to me (there personalities), I felt that I would feel like a pedophile watching the show because the main characters look very different in age, and I know you won't like this, but I also hated the drawing style. When you get the I don't like the plot, the characters personalities, or the way the series looks (in that order), I will drop the show.

    2. Based on the question, put one series that you didn't like on the whole series that you watched all the way through. Why does it suck for you? Why do you think it was bad? (can also apply to ongoing series)

► My list of anime goes down with this question. I;m not sure if this counts, but I watched 3 1/2 seasons of Maria-sama ga Miteru and then dropped it. Don't get me wrong, the series was good, but after all those episodes, the "slice of life" (the most literal meaning of slice of life) got boring.

Nothing ever happened between the characters and it got very predictable. I would have to say that the 3rd season was the worst out of 4, but I didn't finish season 4.

~Code Geass. Not saying that it's a bad anime, i just found it boring. People were saying how great it was, and how "it's the best series ever" and sadly, it it was quite byronic and didn't live up to my expectations. Also, in a sense, it felt a litlte like i was re-watching Death Note. In the end it was too nostalgic, which made it boring for me.

    2. Based on the question, put one series that you didn't like on the whole series that you watched all the way through. Why does it suck for you? Why do you think it was bad? (can also apply to ongoing series)

~InuYasha. Again, not entirely bad, but extremly predictable. InuYasha's attitude also did me in, the "i'm better than you" attitude, and frankly, it pissed me off. It was hyped up to be a great action series, but it had way too much romance for me. And, this may just be me, but i never found the comedy that funny xD. The character's were too cliché (especially Miroku, the pervert character that's in almost every anime), and there was almsot zero character development, they stayed the same the entire series, except for maybe a bit near the end. The whole plot was collecting shards before someone else does, it was like a huge easter egg hunt with obsticles (lol i love my metaphores xD) and you could always predict what was going to happen, and yet some how i watched the whole series (mind you i was young) so there must have been something there that i just couldn't see. All in all, too predictable and bad characters.

(ps sorry to code geass and inuyasha fans, lol i know i'm going to get thumbed down for this :S)

Well, I've only seen the anime, but Pandora Hearts.

It falls under "Didn't live up to my expectations." I had heard people ranting over how good it was, so I checked it out.

    1. Aishiteruze Baby. I've read all seven volumes of the manga, and it was one of the first series that I bought, but never saw the anime past one episode. I don't really know why, but I know that I wouldn't watch it now because I am no longer interested Shojo manga, and it would be a bit too slow-paced for me. Heck, I don't even remember if I saw it or not.

    2. Like I said, Pandora Hearts. I haven't read the manga, but the anime definitly rubbed me the wrong way considering that I had heard everybody talk about just how great that it is. It:

-Felt like they were trying to fit too many plotlines into one

-Started out with one plot ("Find Alice's memories" and "OMG Oz has a curse mark that's ticking away.") and ended with another ("What happened on that day hundreds of years ago?" and "Who are the Baskervilles?")

-The main character, Oz, urked me by the end.

-If, according to Wikipedia, there really are 22 episodes, and I've seen 21 and still have questions, the series is very incomplete.

If it continues, I'll watch it in hopes that everything works out, but it isn't looking so good so far.

Source(s): Here's hoping that the manga will be better!

    1. I don't really think I can hate a series based on one episode. That said, probably any romance series. I wouldn't say they suck (I'm sure there are some good ones out there), but they're just not my type.

    2. Code Geass didn't live up to the hype. It wasn't boring, even the most ADD-riddled kid would enjoy it due to the gratuitous fanservice and explosions. It was just so derivative. It's like they copied their ideas from different studios and put the together. The result is Code Geass, the show which tries to do everything but only ends up being mediocre. The show was all over the place, some school-life here, harem for the perverts there, mecha for the action fans (the fights as I usually say, are boring.), pseudo-politics, etc. I don't know what the show is trying to be. Some kind of war drama or a fantasy/sci-fi action series.

As said, Lelouch is just another version of Light, just more gay due to his faggotry with Rolo and Suazaku. Light was asexual.

In the end I enjoyed some parts of it, but it was poorly done.

    1. So based on the question, put one series that you didn't like based on one episode that you saw. Why does it suck for you? Was it the characters? The plot? Bored?

Okies well. . .First of all, I am not bashing the fans of this particular, popular anime, just the anime. I understand how some can find it appealing. . .well, I am still trying to understand, but I digress.

The anime I watched only one episode on and didn't care to finish was Code Geass. I really apologize, because I know the majority like this anime, but it bored me to tears and I couldn't do nothing but mock it.

Lelouch is just. . .annoying. He is just like Light. And I didn't like Light at all. I thought they were both power-hungry assholes who I think just wanted glory.

Aside from C.C, I mean, she seems cool, the girls that I saw on episode 1 were just annoying. Annoying little prissies. Well, from how I saw it. And this girl. . Nunally, or however you spell her name. . .the sickly girl that Lelouch cares about. . .this anime is just in big cliche.

There was no humor in it. Just robots and explosions. And evil, evil government.

By the way, it pissed me off, because I happen to be a Anglophile (lol xD) so seeing "Brittannia" be portrayed as horrible dictators kinda made me cringe.

So, I guess it comes down to it that I hate and cannot relate to the awesome anti-hero, Lelouch. The plot and genre bores me to no end. . .Shonen anime tends to really bore me. :/

    2. Based on the question, put one series that you didn't like on the whole series that you watched all the way through. Why does it suck for you? Why do you think it was bad? (can also apply to ongoing series)

I finished Death Note. . .and the reasons why I didn't like it from the start to finish are similar to reasons why I disliked Code Geass.

The characters were unrelatable. The main character, Light, was just some f**ked up. . .meanie! D:

The plot, to me, was just running everywhere. Just conflict after conflict and the setting just didn't change and I get tired of anime that stays in one setting for too long.

And again, the anime is a genre that I can't really stick to. It's shonen and mystery. Those two just don't appeal to me for some reason.

I guess it's because I am drawn to anime that can make me laugh, with some love. Which this anime was lacking in.

I understand some people enjoy a plot like that and hate the giggly mushy stuff. But I am a sucker for anime's like that.

    1. Ok for me, The very first Hellsing eps, like WHAT THE HELL!! why would you pretty much straight away make some dying chick your side kick and trust her with the family secret that has been going on for ages. As if you'd trust someone you barley know with that!

2.Chobits, the whole series was pretty much random crap! i reckon the dude that made Chobits decided half way through the series "OH, let's make other persi coms wanna kill her cause she's appraently dangerous." AND what freak falls in love with a freakin COMPUTER.

Sorry i get very aggressive and into detail.

    2. Skip Beat: The plot is horrible. Its about revenge on ShowBusiness.

It wasnt interesting at all. I must say, i like the first book & the second one is alright.
