Do you agree the lesson plans for after the Obama speech to students reads like Nazi indoctrination?

"How is the Fuhrer inspiring you?"

"How can you help the Fuhrer?"

The teachers are even instructed to have the students write a letter to themselves about how they can help the Fuhrer. Then the teachers are to pick them up and hand them out at a later date to hold the students accountable to the Fuhrer.

You may note that there are no lesson plans encouraging debate or ideas that might run counter to the Fuhrer.

They are also to encourage the students to read books about the Fuhrer.

BY THE WAY:

The only word I changed was President to Fuhrer. Scary isn't it?

Update:

Very funny Dr. That was some hilarious footage!

Update 2:

bob n:

Having student reach conclusions is a GREAT thing. Having a study guide with the conclusions already reached for them is not. Surely you can see the problem with asking students after they see the speech "How does Obama inspire you?" How about just asking: "What did the President say?" "Do you agree with him?" "Why or why not?" Why is there an assumption that they will be "inspired"? Doesn't this indicate they have a problem if Obama does not inspire them? Perhaps this line of thought is above YOUR level of thinking?

Update 3:

The Freedom:

Amen! Preach on! What you say is EXACTLY what I am talking about.

Update 4:

Unknown Spaceman:

You really need some oxygen in that capsule with you. Read what I wrote. I didn't praise Bush or any of the other men you listed. My problem is with the schools telling my children that Obama is "inspiring". How would you have reacted if when Bush was President the schools would have taught that he was "inspiring"? For Gods sake man, think before it is too late.

Ah, it is so sad that you can't see past your own deep seated hate and bias to compare the President of the United States of America to Adolph Hitler because he dared suggest that our children stay in school, work hard and graduate. Shoot even Laura Bush endorsed the message.

I fear the the real destruction will not come from the words of the President as some suggest, but I see the core problem coming from what the children learn at home. Hopefully with God's grace and guidance you will see that your fellow Americans may have different points of view, but they are not the enemy you make of them.

The left has some serious psychological help as many are that way. Thanks for the interesting take on it. they cannot play the race card. I find it ironic that people are making a mountain out of a mole hill about this. It's like the way they got upset about the czar that stated he wanted to control the population by putting something in the water to sterilize them or the commie czar or that he or no one else has read the 1,018 page, 2,541 section Obama care plan that is driven by over 100,000 pages of rules and regulations that only the framers of it know what is hidden in it. Ha, ha.

    Have a great 2009!

Brainwashing or indoctrination are trademarks of communists and dictators. Brainwashed people are easier to control. The DOE is simply a puppet tool of the communist party. Ever notice how much the young people worship obama but the older crowd not so much. The brainwashing has gone on a long time. The only difference now is that they are no longer trying to hide their agenda.

It seems that Bush did some very good indoctrinating on Republicans the proof is when they speak. Bull crap comes out of your mouths like saying Bush did a great job. What exactly did he do I was here in the 8 years disaster that we are still living to this day. Bush did a real good job scaring you with those fake color code terror alerts that when you think about it only a coward would not question the truth behind it. If you think that Bush was such a great leader why are Republicans fearful of everything especially change. To me you guys are like trembling chihuahuas. It seems you guys are scared to think for yourselves and you guys don't want to improve your own lives if you did you would support your president. All of you think the same as if you were indoctrinated always saying no to everything and offering no solutions or always afraid of something.you guys are pathetic. later. Obama is trying to encourage the kids to participate in discussions idiot that's what intelligent people do they question and receive answers. I forgot you were indoctrinated by the Republicans you are not allowed to question or go against your party you do as they all do OBEY!

I agree, the whole thing is a bit fishy. Sure, they say that he's going to be talking about staying in school and setting goals, but that's a pretty vague answer. I'd want specifics of this speech.

I have good reason to be suspicious about this speech. Last year, right after Obama was inaugurated, my whole Graphic Design class was assigned to make posters commemorating the inauguration. The Media Design section was told to make a video set to celebratory music. The very fact that I was assigned to design something supporting Obama, no questions asked, makes me feel inclined to think this is a little more than a speech on making healthy choices.

I have no problem with our president encouraging the children of this country to do better it's good that he wants to do that and good for the children that they get praise and encouragement from our nations leader what I do have a problem with is our president telling our children what is right and wrong and that they need to help him with whatever agenda he has not only is that infringing upon parents as they are responsible for teaching children that but the government is suppose to be at our disposal and is suppose to work for us not the other way around such talk is reminiscent of a Nazi like regime.

Edit: I really don't see a reason to down rate my answer it was logical and consisted of elements that should be appreciated by both sides of the argument. Perhaps it’s because I’m not deluded and/or fanatically left or right. You people need to look at the opposite side of the argument and do a little research instead of believing whatever MSNBC and Fox News tells you. It's my right to have an opinion that differs from that of the President or anyone in government having that opinion doesn't not make me crazy or racist but American it's something that people have forgotten.

No, I don't agree and I'm beginning to wonder if this cult-like bunk is contagious. I don't think there is an anecdote for a poisoned mind. You criticize a brilliant man, (President Obama) while you defend an egocentric drug addict (Limbaugh) and phony nut like Beck. I guess it must be that Republican cons are just on a much lower intellectual level and don't understand. They got so used to President Bush and his 8th grade intellect. President Obama is highly educated and wants American kids to stay in school, get good grades and stay away from gangs.

It's worse than scary. Children go to school to be educated, not brainwashed. Take a look at the following clip... about 2 minutes into it if you want to see the 'highlight'.

These liberal bastards are as bad as pedophiles. They're corrupting children who aren't mature enough to know any better. Here in the UK Al Gore's "inconvenient truth" is being presented as science in schools.

Western governments learned a lot from Adolf Hitler. State education is a thing of the past, schools, colleges & universities are now just propaganda institutions.

These came from Washington bureaucrats. I know that when you have someone talk to your class you try to make the kids focus on what is being said. An outline before a video is not unheard of. To have kids draw conclusions is just a higher order thinking skill(something some here lack.

It was scarier when Bush was reading to the students on 9/11.
