Robin Hood syndrome. There is a natural resentment toward big companies and CEOs pulling ridiculous amounts of money in, sometimes billions while laying off people barely making minimum wage. This leaves an imbalance in society, the haves and the have nots, the Eloi and Morlocks. What have you. So it feels ok to steal from a large company if it is a necessity rather than a luxury from a small business. Or something like that? I am not sure.

The thieves feel that the companies have nothing to lose, that the owners are rich and would not miss what they steal. They are not aware or do not care that every time they steal the rest of the population are paying extra for those things that get stolen. I can understand if people steal a loaf of bread for their children if they are starving but i cannot stand people who steal jewelry, make-up and other things a person can do without.

shop lifters make things a lot harder for other people as companies end upincreasingg the price of their products to compensate for the loss (Theft)
i had a friend about 15 years ago who would go intoWoolworth'ss and shoplift by the bag, hedidn'tt need the things that he took he said that he got a buzz out of it. most of the things that he stole werethrownn in the river as he never needed them.
at the end of the day i feel that if you want something, save for it and then you get morepleasuree out of it!

Because big companies exploit their customers and thier workers. They pay them next to nothing and sell their products at ridiculous overinflated prices. We need to bring these capitalistic institutions down: either from above (government takeover) or from below (causing their collapse and fragmentation)

Nothing to do with big companies.
People just think they have the God given right to nick anything they please from anyone or anywhere and don't give a toss about it either.
