Do you believe someones political belief can be changed?

by the power of suggestion and/or the power of sex? This is a serious question. Can sexual interaction change a persons political view or simply keep them quiet on what they truly believe?

Update:

I believe sex is more powerful than politics.

My views are always open to change. The cons here haven't done the job though.

Hahah, for some, I think it would be easier to change their sex than to change their political beliefs.

But seriously, I think if having a sexual relationship does make changes in those beliefs, there is probably more going on than just sex--perhaps like respect, more willingness to be open (no pun intended,) and more willingness to be introspective at the encouragement of your partner.

If those things aren't in place, I wouldn't expect an orgasm to affect the belief system.

Sex or not, politicians switch parties now and then. People change their minds and reaffiliate with different sides all the time.

Sex may be more pleasurable than politics, but I don't think more powerful. A politician can screw thousands of people at once.

Oh yeah, you have a valid point.

But it only goes so far, and varies as much as there are different viewpoints among people. I would suggest that young men are the most impressionable, then young women, then older and maturer men and women.

I think politic choices are heavily influenced by peers, and such things as relate to the passage of your life; those experiences values and beliefs you adopted or set or attained for yourself.

Reason will not change the human mind, but life experiences may. As per sex I guess one should refrain from calling others racist untill they have had sex with the other race in question. Hello President Carter

Wow, interesting question. I think sex could overtake political beliefs in a superficial, short term way but not in the long term.

Yes absolutely on both. Idealism can be corrupted by many factors, the most common status and associated privilege that makes someone lose the sense of urgency that drove him or her to go ihnto politics, but yes also sexuality.

    Sex is very powerful indeed

If you having sex with your conservative mate ( which is why your asking this) changes him from a conservative to a liberal, his convictions were not that deeply seated to begin with, and would have eventually been swayed for some other reason. God bless.

PS: BTW. God didn't create sex so woman could use it to manipulate people, he made it to bind a husband and wife together.

Well I believed in the war in Iraq and my president at the time, but changed my belief after it was proven there were really no WMD's and I was lied too. Does that count?
