How could 7 senators vote for ACORN to continue to get Federal funding?

These people are completely out of their minds. ACORN is corrupt, and always has been. Now that they have been exposed for who they are, and who they employ, how can ANYONE in the Senate continue to support funding them with OUR tax dollars.

If any of these people are YOUR senator, do you support the vote they cast?

Dick Durbin (D-IL)

Roland Burris (D-IL)

Robert Casey (D-PA)

Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)

Patrick Leahy (D-VT)

Bernie Sanders (I-VT)

Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)

Who do you think benefits from all those illegal activities ACORN is advising people to get involved in? I'm sure you don't really think they're turning their heads because they think ACORN is a fine upstanding organization. You don't seem that naive to me.

Of course it's not wrong for them to benefit from criminal activity because as long as you don't say it's wrong, you're not guilty of doing wrong... isn't that the way it works for them? It would only be wrong if some conservative/Republican was supporting criminals.

Of those seven, 5 of the 7 are extremely safe. Of the other two:

Bob Casey may be in danger if the right Republican runs in 2012 (remember, he replaced Rick Santorum). This is the real headscratcher as Pennsylvania is more liberal than conservatives would like to think (conservative candidates there have been grossly overestimated in the polls), but not by that much.

Roland Burris will not be running again, although I can understand his vote along with that of Dick Durbin.

One of my senators did vote that way (Gillibrand; Schumer did not). I don't support the vote, but I won't hold it against them in the big picture (it may not matter, because Gillibrand will likely be unchallenged or face only token opposition in 2010).

BTW, it doesn't matter if Nancy Pelosi doesn't allow a vote on it in the House. Chances are, if it gets to the White House, Obama may just let it become law after 10 days without a signature.

The 2 from IL are protecting their home-town guy. President Obama may not ever have had any criminal ties with Acorn but his past associations with this criminal organization cannot be denied. For Durbin and Burris to vote for cutting the funds, therefore, would have placed the President in a very interesting position. The other 5 are simply idiots.

It does not surprise me about Durbin or Burris. I'm from Illinois and we have the most corrupt Democrats in the country.

They are not going to do anything because their boy is the president. Acorn also have high ranking members of their organization in office with Obama. How are you going to compete with that. And I'm sure that they are finding ways to use tax payers money to fund Acorn, recruit more members to get more votes.

I used to live in New Hampshire... the 2 Vermonters are idiots.

My guess is that ALL of them were getting monetary kickbacks for their vote.

There is no logical explanation. I can't believe Hillary's replacement Kristen Gillibrand was stupid enough to vote no on this as she has to run for that seat in 2010..

    I agree with Corky!

And hopefully they will all be voted out in 2010. Obviously they protect the crooks instead of up holding the law.

I can explain two. Durbin & Burris both from Illinois. Obama from Illinois. The two from Vermont, I have my opinions about the gay communities in Vermont but will not express them here.
