Why are so many people on here Christiophobic?

Don't you ever think people tend to prejudge Christians and have irrational fears and dislikes of them?

Update:

But FAR more people are killed over non-religious reasons.

Update 2:

Jesaphobic? Really! I was just making up a word. I didn't know one already existed to describe the prejudice I see here. Cool!

Update 3:

Have you watched what our government is up to? I don't think you have to worry about our country turning all Christian. That seems like a pretty irrational fear.

    Im a christian.

What you just did was persecute atheists. And made it out like they were evil and persecuted us.

The bible said that we would be persecuted, deal with it. Atheists are people, they breathe, eat, walk, and love.

Just because they are not Christian does NOT mean that they do not love and that they are bad/evil people.

Learn to spread the love, forget about the differences between mankind and perhaps you will have lived up to man-kinds greatest expectations and fulfilled your duties as a christian.

But FAR more people are killed over non-religious reasons... are you sure? The big bloody messes have been pretty religious, not always Christians, but still. World War 2 -Hitler was blessed by the pope.. He even blessed one of the right wing leaders of Austria a few years before he died.

Just because someone disagrees with you, doe's not mean you have been exposed to prejudice. And one of the reasons why people are septic is that some Christians seem to be very reluctant to expand their mind and try to think outside their rules. A lot of the answers are just repeating the Bible, not personal thoughts. And I think the Bible is pretty mean and personally would not praise that God. Most so called Christians don't even follow the rules of the bible. They shave and work on sundays, don't have slaves and don't just go and pick up the women of the next city so they can use them as wifes ;)

I would never let religion narrow down my spirituality and I get a little sad if I talk to people who don't creatively wonder about the magic of the unknown!

But as long as you don't hurt someone, exclude people or treat your wife inferior in any way, we can believe in whatever we want :)

    Doesn't everyone get discriminated against...

I have heard horrible things about atheists and Muslims...people stereotype people and subjects they do not understand.

Anyone is able to be mean.

I am worried about religion. I have read and seen horrible things be justified based on religious beliefs. I know that religion is not the cause of all of the bad in teh world but there are some people who use religion as an excuse to commit horrific crimes.

These people are usually mentally ill or emotionally disturbed.

I have seen teenagers being kicked out of their homes because they dated someone who was not in their religion.

I have seen women and men disowned by their families because of their life choices.

I dislike anyone who is offensive and mean. I do not judge someone because they tell me they are Christian.

If someone has a sacred text which teaches him how to act, then why do some people act immoral. Because, we are human.

I should not base what I have read or seen some Christians do, to justify me disliking anyone who calls themselves a Christian... and I do not...It is wrong to judge anyone you do not know.

But, I do know many religious people who are prejudice. I know that anyone is able to be prejudice. It does not matter what religion you belong too...

But when the religion teaches hate and it affects my families education and life.. It is scary.

My wife is a christian, so I have nothing against them. Its when christianity (or any religion for that matter) turns into extremism, or fanatacism that I have a large issue with. Its my personal belief that society has been struggling in its progression due partly to modern religion. I am also very much against, and quite frankly afraid of what might happen if people ever start teaching religoius doctrine in public schools. Other than that, my best friends in the whole world are christians, my mother is, my father is, my sister is. So on and so on. So, not all of us are phobic towards christians

My fears are that the government turns into a theocracy. Some Christians want this, but most are OK. I don't see it as an irrational fear.

Just because I don't believe in something does not mean I fear it. On the other hand I do fear the possibility that Christianity might infiltrate our government to the point where any other belief might be made unlawful.

Because most Christians are a gun away from Fanaticism, and generally have an aversion to all people that don't follow their way of life or beliefs, they proselytize, and are generally bigots.

While Bigots come in every size and shape, History tends to show that a great deal of them had religious backing, and tend to not support any background for their beliefs other than "It's in the Bible" or "G-d says this."

I'm not Christiophobic per se cuz I guess Christ was a nice dude and all supposedly, but I AM overzealous-christ-fanatic-phobic. I base this on a long long history of horrible experiences, my dislikes are not irrational by any stretch.

    "Irrational fears and dislikes"?

Lol. I'm not afraid of Christians, and I only dislike the ones who get on my bad side.

actually your not correc when you say far more people are killed over non religious reasons. I don't konw if you have ever heard of the crusades, or have ever read some of the history of religions but religion has cuased some pretty nasty stuff. so its not as irrational as you think.
