What does Florida State's thrashing of BYU mean?

Does it mean nothing?

Does it mean teams like BYU should fall back on their "we want a title shot" argument?

Your thoughts? I didn't see most of the game, was BYU over matched or did they throw away the game?

Update:

Patt: You make a very good point. But history has shown people care more about money and athletic ability. We are genetically indisposed to champion physical feats, it's what keeps our species going. I'm a nerd, I know exactly what your talking about dude.

It means the Florida State is getting back to their old ways of being one of the elite programs, slowly but surely.

It also means that the teams like BYU should just shut up, they don't deserve to be in the title game when they don't play or beat anybody good.

It means that the BYU defense everyone was talking about this year is a joke. The south is all about speed..SEC and ACC. Size and maturity cannot outrun the track stars of FSU. The same thing happens to Big 10 and PAC 10 teams when they play SEC teams like LSU and Florida.

FSU's secondary is pretty weak, as evident in the 1st half. However, BYU got rattled in the 2nd half and couldn't take adavantage of FSU's secondary. Poor throws (and some help from the officials on that pick-6) ultimately led to BUY's demise.

It means Miami (FL) is a top 5 team.

Oh, and just put Florida State back into the top 25 at about 21 and drop BYU down to about 16 or 17.

It means that Oklahoma needs to find an answer for Sam Bradford being hurt. It also means that Florida State has a good team this year. BYU is not a title contender, nowhere nohow.

FSU just got lucky. They got 5 turnovers to zero. BYU had just as many yards with five less chances.

BYU beats FSU 8-10 times at least.

It means that Oklahoma will only beat Miami by 30 instead of 50 like LAST YEAR!

Source(s): Oklahoma will beat Miami on their own field, without the two best players in college football (Bradford, Gresham). Everyone knows that BYU was a pre-season game for Oklahoma. Didn't y'all learn anything when Utah pounded the snot out of Alabama last year?

It means ARROGANT BYU FANS STILL NEED TO KEEP DREAMING!!! GOD I LIVE IN UTAH, AND THE FANS OF BYU ARE SO ANNOYING!!!! EVERY SINGLE DAY I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THE STUPID ARROGANT FANS!!!

it also means that Florida state is back in the Top 25, and BYU's hopes of going to the BCS are out! Or to the Nat'l championship. Good luck to the 'Noles. on the rest of their season.

it means that while teams like BYU that hold academic standards higher than wins and losses on the football field while admirable, will never be in a position to beat teams like FSU that care very little about the quality of life thier football players have after they graduate.
