Christians, did you know that...?

God's seal is the seventh day Sabbath (Saturday) and that the mark of the beast is the counterfeit day of worship (Sunday)?

Update:

A seal is the official mark on a legal document. God’s law is a legal document. It contains the Ten Commandments which He wrote Himself. One of them, has the three components that make up a seal: the name, the title or office and the dominion. As we read through the Ten Commandments, only the fourth, which speaks of the Sabbath meets these requirements. Exodus 8:10 states: “…for in six days the LORD (name) made (title: Creator) heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is (dominion), and rested on the seventh day; wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. In Revelation 12:17 and 14:12, we read that the remnant are those who keep God’s commandments and have the testimony, faith of Jesus. God’s people, through faith in Jesus will keep the commandments in the last days. These are the ones who will not be able to buy or sell because they refused to receive the mark of the beast.

Update 2:

We read in Romans 2:15 that God’s law is written in our hearts. This means we obey them in love. We read that God’s people will be sealed in their foreheads in Revelation 7:2, 3. Isaiah 8:16 tells us what God’s people will be sealed with: “Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.” His law will be in our minds, that means we will consciously choose to keep the Commandments. Those who receive the mark of the beast will have it placed not only in their foreheads and their right hands. Strong’s Concordance described the right hand The right hand is "a place of honour or authority". So, the beast thinks it has authority above the Bible and has succeeded in getting many to follow it in its false worship.

The Catholic Church admits that Sunday worship is its mark. "Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change [of the Sabbath to Sunday] was her act. . . . AND THE ACT IS A MARK of her ecclesiastical power." --from the office of Cardinal Gibbons, Nov. 11, 1895.

Update 3:

“From this we may understand how great is the authority of the church in interpreting or explaining to us the commandments of God - an authority which is acknowledged by the universal practice of the whole Christian world, even of those sects which profess to take the holy Scriptures as their sole rule of faith, since they observe as the day of rest not the seventh day of the week demanded by the Bible, but the first day. Which we know is to be kept holy, only from the tradition and teaching of the Catholic church.” Henry Gibson, Catechism Made Easy, #2, 9th edition, vol. 1, p. 341-342. The Sabbath is God’s seal because it distinguishes Him from the false gods. It makes it clear who we are worshipping when we keep it. We are worshipping the God who that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters (Revelation 14:7).

Update 4:

In their Catechism, the Catholic Church explains why it keeps Sunday instead of Saturday as the Lord’s day. “We all gather on the day of the sun, for it is the first day [after the Jewish sabbath, but also the first day] when God, separating matter from darkness, made the world; and on this same day Jesus Christ our Savior rose from the dead. Sunday is expressly distinguished from the sabbath which it follows chronologically every week; for Christians its ceremonial observance replaces that of the sabbath. In Christ's Passover, Sunday fulfills the spiritual truth of the Jewish sabbath and announces man's eternal rest in God. For worship under the Law prepared for the mystery of Christ, and what was done there prefigured some aspects of Christ (Source: http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P7O.HTM).

The Bible never authorized the change of the Sabbath but it predicted in Daniel 7:25 that man would tamper with God’s law and that prediction has come true.

Update 5:

The second commandment has been merged with the first, the fourth commandment has become the third and the last commandment has been split in two. The Ten Commandments in the Catechism of the Catholic Church are listed differently from the way they are listed in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. You can check this out for yourselves.

Update 6:

I too am under grace and not under condemnation of the law, however, in the words of Paul we are to establish the law. Being under grace does not excuse us from keeping the Ten Commandments. Jesus came to fulfill the law, not to abolish it. And all ten of the Commandments are mentioned in the New Testament.

1st: Matthew 4:10

2nd: 1 John 5:21; Acts 17:29;

3rd: 1 Timothy 6:1

4th: Matthew 24:20; Mark 2:27, 28; Hebrews 4:4, 9, 10; Colossians 1:16

5th: Matthew 19:19

6th: Romans 13:9

7th: Matthew 19:18

8th: Romans 13:9

9th: Romans 13:9

10th: Romans 7:7

I am basing my beliefs on the Word of God and prophecies which have come true, not on Ellen G. White. The Catholic Church has openly admitted to changing the Sabbath and pointed out that Protestant churches which claim to follow the Bible are really following the Catholic Church.

Update 7:

@ jim761076: Thanks for your concern, but I do read and study my Bible with the help of the Holy Spirit. I did not say that salvation comes from keeping a day holy. Salvation comes only through Jesus Christ. We do not keep the law in order to be saved because the law cannot save. We are saved by grace through faith. However, we are obedient in observing the law because we love God and because the Bible says: "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15).

First of all, what is God's "seal?" A seal is something having to do with legal affairs. A law is stamped with the seal of the ruling government. A seal has three parts:

    1) The name of the ruler.

    2) The ruler's title.

    3) The territory over which he rules.

When the government seal is on a law, or on currency, it is official. The whole loyal nation stands behind it. God's seal makes His law official, and the whole loyal universe stands behind it.

Anyone disloyal to the seal of the government, and to the law upon which it is attached, is looked upon as being disloyal to the government itself.

Just as a government ruler's seal is placed in his law to make it official, God's seal is in His law. Here's what God says: "Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples." Isaiah 8:16.

Where are we sealed? In the forehead. His law is in our hearts. Under the new covenant, His promise is:

"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those day, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them." Hebrews 10: 16.

The Holy Spirit places the seal of God in our foreheads when we choose it. The forehead contains the "frontal lobe." This section of the brain is where our conscience is. When you receive the seal

of God in your forehead, it means you have it in your conscience. You believe in it. You're loyal to it.

Just as the government ruler uses his "seal" of government to enforce the laws of the land, God uses His "seal" to enforce His law. The beast will use his seal (mark), to try to enforce his law in place of God's.

Where will you find the seal of God with its three parts? In the very center of His law. Take a close look:

"Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work ... For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." Exodus 20:8-11.

This is the only place in the Bible where you will find God's seal. Here are the three parts of the seal.

    1) His name - "the Lord."

    2) His title - "thy God" (Creator).

    3) His territory - "heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is."

That is fantastic! No wonder Satan has worked so hard to hide the truth of the sacred Sabbath from us. It's God's sign!

You may ask "Is the Sabbath really the seal of God?" Look at Ezekiel 20:12. "Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them" "And hallow my Sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God." Ezekiel 20:20. (The word "sign" means the same as "seal" - see Romans 4:11).

What could be clearer? The seal of God is His Sabbath.

Satan knew that he had to get at this very part. No wonder the beast ripped it out and put in a substitute!

Look at this astonishing statement concerning her act of changing God's Sabbath to Sunday - "Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act., And the act (get this now) is a mark of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters."! Thomas, H.F., Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons, In answer to a letter regarding the change of the Sabbath. Sunday worship is the mark of the Papacy's authority. The mark. Sunday worship is the "mark of the beast!"

The issues are plain. God says that He is the true God. He has given His Sabbath as a sign of His authority as the Creator of all. By keeping it, we recognize His authority.

Sunday worship does not fit the description of the mark of the beast, so no.

Here are the scriptures -- I don't see how you possibly come up with this idea.

Rev. 13: 16-18 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

Rev 14: 9 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand,

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name."

Rev. 16:2 The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly and painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.

And there are 2 other references, nothing about the Sabbath day at all.

So please explain how you came up with this?

No, I did not know that. Perhaps you would be good enough to present some Bible evidence to support the claim?

Where did you get this information. It does not matter what day you worship. The seventh day was created for rest. One man esteemed every day alike and another esteemed one day above others. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own ways.

  • This is only partially true, the Sabbath is one of the signs or seals, not the only one.

There are quite a few false preachers who would like to put a yoke of bondage on true Christians. If you have not read your own bible, and are just fed what to believe from your church leaders, I will quote you the scripture so that you will know that there are no "holy days" that we must observe for salvation.

    Colossians 2:13-17

"And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has God made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, mailing it to His cross; and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or in RESPECT OF A HOLY DAY, OR OF THE NEW MOON, OR OF THE SABBATH; Which are a shadow of things to come; but the substance is of Christ.”

So, while you are still under subjection to the law, I being saved by the grace of God through Jesus Christ am free from all subjection. The Law and the Sabbath was a "shadow" or a prophecy of the coming of Jesus. With Jesus, no man works. We all rest in His glory. Just like when God created the world, He declared it perfect and rested. Now He was not tired. He rested in His glory. So to, the last words Jesus spoke on the cross were, "It is finished". He rose in glory and sat down at the right hand of the Father.

After the salvation work of Jesus was finished, everything was done. There is no more striving or working or anything for us. This is the perfect work of God. So if you strive and work to show yourself worthy for salvation, you reject the Gospel of Grace.

That gospel is the facts of what Jesus did at our salvation. His death, burial, and resurrection. That is a perfect work of God and afterward there is no more working to do. That is what that Sabbath day represented, as well as the creation day. But, I am no under obligation by any law to follow any ordinance pertaining to the Sabbath day or any other day for that matter. All these earthly things are temporal. They are going to pass away.

So there is no more respect of temporal things. Again, the Sabbath that you cite is a representation of Christ's glory and resting at the right hand of the Father. Not my ritual practices on a certain day of the week. I really think that you should read your bible and especially focus on St. Paul's writings. There are many dispensations in the bible.

A dispensation is a set period of time with a set of ordinances that were given by God to us and for us. For instance, we are not to look for a huge are to get into for our salvation. But that WAS a dispensation and the revelation of it was given to one man only, Noah. Likewise we are not to sacrifice sheep for sins. That WAS a dispensation under the Law. Under that same Law was the Sabbath to be observed. But, we are not under that dispensation. That dispensation was a mirroring or a prophecy, in type, of Jesus Christ. Again, the revelation of that dispensation was given to one man, Moses. We are not even under the dispensation of the Gospel of the Kingdom. That was when Jesus was alive in Israel presenting Himself to them as their promised King/Messiah. The Gospel at that time was to repent, be water baptized, and follow Jesus as King/Messiah. Most rejected that Gospel and they killed Jesus. That moved the earth into the dispensation that we are currently in. That is the dispensation of the Gospel of Grace. The revelation of the mystery of this dispensation was given to St. Paul only. He actually had to teach the 12 disciples the mysteries of this dispensation. So if you reject Paul, you more than likely reject his Gospel and likewise, you more than likely reject God's only provision for our salvation. We are saved by nothing other than faith in Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection for the remission of our sins. There is nothing else we NEED to do but to believe the Gospel. That Gospel is found in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4.

Source(s): Study the bible with this dispensational approach and you will find that it makes a lot more sense. Also, don't trust in anything other than the gospel, which you have just heard. If you trust in anything for your salvation other than faith in Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection for the remission of your sins. You reject God's perfect work. You continue to strive in the flesh to show yourself approved before God. Which we all know there is no fleshly work that can make us righteous before God. That is why we rest now, Jesus did all the work. There is no more to do! So, we are spiritually resting in this Sabbath dispensation! That is in spirit and in truth. I hope that you are not still striving and working in the flesh during this Sabbath dispensation of the Gospel of Grace. That would be the true sin!
