Your Thoughts About This Guy's Views...?
I work with this married guy who is very vocal about how he despises the very idea of gays and lesbians getting married. In fact, one time he even said they should make homosexuality a federal crime all the way across the board.
And YET, in the next breath, he will tell jokes like: "What's the difference between a wife and a hooker? One of them gets a ring." OR: "How can you tell the difference between being a john and being a husband? A john only has to pay the ***** once!"
So what do you think HIS story is? And no, you can breathe a sigh of relief...He has NOT identified himself as a "Christian." In fact, I doubt he even goes to church.
@Snowflake: You are 100% right about that. Lucky me, though...Even though we work in the same office, I don't have to work WITH or NEXT to him. We have a HUGE office and he works all the way over on the other side of it. I only see him during meetings and at lunchtime in the cafeteria...and the less I see him, the better my day is.

I think it's deplorable...
He's probably been brought up that way by an older generation...or by parents who obviously don't care about the moral values of their children.
Or...maybe he just abuses freedom of speech (if American), like so many Americans do. He also could just be afraid of something that doesn't make since to him. If he comes out as Christian though (I'm Christian) point out to him that sin is sin and that he's certainly not exempt, especially in the way he's talking. He can't possibly judge people to that extremity then turn around and talk like a chauvinist pig and expect to be respected.
I'm sorry you have to deal with someone like that.

It sounds like he's spouting off stuff he's heard rather than things he's reasoned for himself.
How on earth do you listen to him without jumping in and asking him 'why should homosexuality be a federal crime?'...I bet you he'd have no answer.

Would it be any surprise to you that he's one of those "straight" guys that looks down at us at public urinals. Wouldn't surprise me! He's anti-gay because he's that insecure about his own self. it just might be the only thing that brings a smile to his face.
