Who would I go to so that I can have a 200 year old Bible appraised?

Question

I have a Bible that was printed in 1816, so its not quite 200 years old. It has no copyright date in it, perhaps before that office was enacted. There is no reference to it being a King James Version and unlike all King James Versions prior to the '60's there is no preface. Its a blue cloth hardcover and in pretty good condition. The pages are not in gold foil. Any advice, suggestions, answers will be greatly appreciated.

wow, might be worth something. You should have someone locally that appraises things. definitely don't send it off to anyone.

A rare book dealer.  However, one thing needs to be clear from the outset: condition is everything.  

The reason it has no copyright date is that the KJV is in the public domain.  It cannot be copyrighted.  Still, the fact that there's no mention of KJV could be because it is not.  It may be a Catholic Bible, for example.  On the other hand, the KJV was so very standard long ago that it may not mention it for that reason.

Go to a curator, or any head of library, They know the value of books, They might even be interested in buying such an ancient version of bible
