I want to buy $2000 of foreign stocks. Particularly Australia. How do I do that?

Ameritrade only lets me buy overpriced American stocks. I want to buy overseas commodities. Anyone know how?

They don't let you do that? Switch over to Scottrade.

You may be confused....Ameritrade allows you to buy anything you can legally trade on a US exchange, just like any other brokerage does, for a price.

If you live in the USA, want to invest in Australian stocks, and you do not have an Australian taxpayer ID, then the easiest way for you to do that is to buy an ETF that tracks the Australian market, and one is available through the NYSE under the ticker symbol EWA.
