The clean out is the only pipe coming out of the ground outside usually close to the bathroom. All smaller lines usually go to the toilet since it requires a bigger diameter pipe. Once found go to a hardware store and get a drain buster, its a rubber bladder with a hose attachment on it. Works good unless you have a lot of trees and roots growing in the line. Then you would need to snake it. Go with the blaster first its cheap. It works just like bubba was talking about but you don't have to stick your hands in the drains. The water will not back fill into your drinking water. A real licensed plumber can tell you that. I wouldn't trust someone that says they are a liscened master plumber in stste of ky.

Assuming you are talking about the 4" soil lines. Under the house, there might be a "y" in the line. It will allow access for a snake or clean out tool. If not, and there are no "4" caps exposed in the yard a few feet away from the house, toward the street or alley you will have to enter from the toilet stool. I have used a water hose with rags wrapped around it to force pressure into the stool's 4 inch line; however that will require that someone hand seal all the drains in the house with rags forced and held by hand (a lot of hands might be needed)...this will sometimes located the blockage, if it's outside as water may come to the surface. Most often, you will feel the pressure lesson to nothing as the blockage moves into the trunk line...continue to flush for a while to assure it is moving well on down the line.

The sewer pipe clean out should not be hard to find. It will be a cap screwing into the large sewer pipe running from your house to the street or septic tank. Its usually located close to where the pipe enters the house. When you find it you should be able to run a snake through it ( you can rent them if you don't have one) and clean out the obstruction and then snake from the farthest point in the house to the clean out to do that part you can go in at a toilet or sink for this one. If the obstruction is in the town part it may be their responsibility depending on where you live. Good luck.
