Its such a good idea, it helps so many children and gives them a glimmer of hope in the world, its so simple and not very expensive for us, and i personally have so much fun doing it!

Yep! Even though it's still more than a month until collection week, I'm already working on mine. :) So far I'm putting together four boxes, and if I have enough money I might do another one. I always get so excited about this every year though- I just love putting together shoe boxes! It's so much fun to pick out stuff for kids of different ages, and it's great knowing that you're helping children in other countries.

They have a program where my husband works where they set up a Christmas tree around Nov. or so, and hang a paper star with a child's name on it. There's information on it as to what they would like for Christmas. It's such a neat idea to help an underprivileged child enjoy receiving gifts at Christmas. It makes YOU happy to be able to do this. You are never asked to pick a star. But, the tree is usually empty rather quickly.
