We have just got a HD TV and are pleasantly bemused by the lack of advertisments on some channels. Does anyone know why this is, how they fund broadcasts and how do we find out the names of the places that are shown? (We live in Tasmania Australia)

5 AnswersTVs1 decade agoHow many onions would you use for a curry?
My husband likes to cook curry. An indian friend showed him how he cooks a curry once and now my husband is convinced that onion should be the basis for all curries. When he makes a curry for us he makes about enough for us to eat and freeze whats left over for another meal. He never uses less than 5 big onions and will most likely use 6 or 7! I think he relies too much on the onions for flavour in his curry. He does use spices and makes yummy curries but I'm curious to what others think to his method.

6 AnswersMovies1 decade agoHave you heard of Simon's psychological law known as "the 10 year rule"?
In the 60's Herbert A. Simon explained a theory called chunking and coined a pyschological law the 10-year rule, which states that it takes approximately a decade of heavy labour to master any field. For example, Gauss in mathematics, Mozart in music and Bobby Fischer in chess. Is there an area you would put 10yrs heavy labour into in order to Master something? If so what is it?
